Pardew said on Monday night at a fans forum at SJP, albeit half tongue in cheek, that he would have him like a shot but we wouldn't pay more than 8 million for him, make of that what you will. In my opinion I think the lad will want to prove something to himself and kop fans, but then again does he want to play for a manager who didn't sign him and where the signs point to Rodgers wanting him out of the door. Also, who could resist coming home?

People laughed at Kennys 35m but yhey will laugh even harder if we pay 17m as there are better strikers out there

Can you sign players that fail medicals?. Not sure as I think you must be able to otherwise how has hargreaves and Woodgate changed clubs ? Ed? {Ed003's Note - It has happenned in the past out of desperation or doctors advice things would be fine but the insurance side of things are so strict now, that's why it takes an age for signings to be confirmed after medicals}

Thanks here's a follow up question does this mean they get a pay out when a player gets injured through insurance?

We signed Ben Arfa on a perminent deal after he broke both his legs? {Ed007's Note - To answer the last poster, insurance will pay medical costs and wages of injured players. If a player's career is ended through injury the insurance company will pay out compensation.}

Baines is 28 and would cost £15m plus so wont happen. Santon will play LB with Debuchy right when he signs....and he will IMO.

In order to get Baines we'd have to spunk the next three years transfer budget on him. We're a side step move for him aswell, he's much more likely to go to Man Utd, or even city if they're going after the entire England team.

It will not be Berba but would love to see Gameiro come in. He was teh one they wanted last summer but he chose PSG and who could blame him really they are teh French equivelent of Man City, but tehy do not need or want him now so we should get him.

We haven't bid for Toivenen (I presume that's the over-rated Swedish player you're talking about) and we aren't even linked with Man United players.
