Surely Gosling has to be picked ahead of a second striker.
Let one of the mids with pace play behind, Ba or Best. I thought this was the plan when Ben Arfa was in the team? So why not use Marv, Obertan or Gosling in that role?
It is clear to the whole world that our strength is not in our strike force, and that we have more depth (i said more not a lot) in the middle of the pitch. So playing a 4-4-2 makes little sense, would like to see us try 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1.
Any formation that will see us playing our best players at one time rather than a second ineffective striker, has to be better.
Would love to see a win at Villa!!!!

After seeing cabaye against villa he should play "in the hole" when Ben arfa isn't fit.

Think that's the way to go , but we don't know what's going on behind scenes . I do think 442 is old hat in modern day game 433 or 4411 is far more suitable in today's game more importantly we have the players for either

Is Shane ferguson still injured? I really rate him, and the more he plays the better he will get, unlike jonas he'll make things happen and I haven't seen enough of marveaux to judge him but I've been told he's struggling to get fit, sammy and vuckic need a chance also they won't get better in the reserves

Rumour has it that sporting bet.com have stopped taking bets on The Marriot being the busiest place in the north east in January,;).........on a serious note though,fair play to pardew,and your lads,you have had a good start to the season,not spectacular but steady,ur looking good for a top 12 finish which can't be sniffed at,
