I think it is obvious that you all, almost to a man, want Pardew out, but who would you choose to replace him?

Actually more specifically, if you could get anyone, who would be your ideal replacement?

And who would be your realistic choice?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we could get ANYONE,
Guardiola/Klopp haha love bayern and dortmund's football.

Realistically:
It's difficult to class anyone as "realistic" right now i'd take the likes of moyes, pulis, hoddle for a season. But ideally de Boer

Agree0 Disagree0

Nigel pearson, good man, knows the club, good coach and has got great performances out of a range of young, overseas and older players. he would also be able to organise our shambles of a defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Desree if your memory serves you well (who sang that?)

Perason had a shot he was useless and learned a lot after mangaging the TOON against Man Utd half time 0-0 comment ftrom Pearson we are here to win final score MU 6 V NUFC O
On that basis of what you say Shearer could do a better job at least he has heart and soul about Newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

That was 6 years ago, leicester beat man utd this season vida. shearer can't even give decent match reviews on motd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Desree, As said he may have learned a lot after his brief but disastrous temp manager stint of Newcastle.

Newcastle beat Manchester a few times means nothing as they are not that good right now and will only get better.

Shearer well that is your opinion he tells it how it is.

I played Golf with him in May he is arrogant not a particularly charismatic although quiet shoots from the hip, but he is Newcastle United through and through except for Ashley and perhaps after his disastrous temp managers job in the last 8 games trying to cover inadequate and silly mistakes that had already been made, he
could have replicated Pearson or perhaps done a lot better.

We will never know but Pearson for me is where he is and he should stay there an no contention for NUFC.
Only my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vida as my old man used to say - opinions are like ar$3holes, everybody has got one.

Shearer sounds like fun?

the question was who could we realistically get as manager. Wake up man, there is no chance of shearer managing Newcastle again under this regime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your description of Shearer sounds just like Mike Ashley except he is passionate about Spurs!

Agree0 Disagree0

Desree, Think everyone knows that even if Ashley was on his knees. So get back to a manager Paearson is No good for NUFC and it gets more desperate everyday

Your Old man was right so remember that when you make an opinion

Another late night for you tomorrow

As for Shaearer he has lost that lovin' feeling

Why can't ashley just see that his business model and transfer policy just won't work under Pardew?

If ashley wants his transfer policy to work then he just needs to look at the likes of Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, now in no way am I saying we can be as good as them, but they have shown that you don't need to overspend to have success. You need a quality manager, who can get the best out of his players, and can utilise the youth academy. Diego Simeone, Jurgen Klopp and Frank de Boer are managers who constantly have to rebuild their squad every season, but they still get success.

Ashley's policy, CAN WORK, however he needs proper footballing people running the club for him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - bit soon to include Simeone in there, you know he has only been managing Atletico for 3 years in December. This summer was his first real rebuild and they aren't exactly flying in what is a weak league, other than Barca and Real Madrid, sitting there in 5th place. I like Simeone so far, but this season is his first real test, with a rebuild and raised expectations. Frank de Boer has not had to deal with a rebuild, nor do Ajax have any real competition in the Dutch league at the present time. While he has been very successful, and may well turn out to be perfect in the role you are talking about, he has not shown so yet. Plus he already turned down the chance to talk to Liverpool and Spurs in recent years, I very much doubt he would have any interest in Newcastle under those conditions. He would want a team that can challenge for titles, when he decides to move on.}

Ed, you make some good points however i am not saying that Simeone, FDB or Klopp should be candidates, just we need people like them, who can work in our conditions.
there's no doubt that we are still an attractive club (despite ashley) and there is no doubt there are managers out there who are motivated to work under a tight budget etc. It's just ashley doesn't see this.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ok mate, sorry was just trying to be accurate.}

Nothing wrong with your reasoning JT
But any manager coming to Newcastle Will have to understand that money is the only motivation
for Ashley however he won't spend any of it to ensure the team can even be a mid-table team
All the pieces are up in the air and and no one has any idea where they will fall.

Pardew will of course be sacrificed to give Ashley the breathing space he needs and yes he needs sacking his record is abysmal.

There is no future for Newcastle united under the present conditions and relying on January is just pure idiocy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't apologise ed!
Didn't mean write that second post in an aggressive manner haha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I didn't take it as aggressive mate, I just know I sometimes get a bit pedantic!}
