Yep, but if he wants to leave, i hope he does it sooner rather than later, else we'll end up being a striker short going into the next season. no one wants to see a repeat of the maiga/erdinc chase from last summer.

The benefit with him apparently having this 7m release clause is we will find out whether he wants to be here, if someone bids 7m he still doesn't have to leave, if he does then so be it, I'd rather have players that want to be in black and white. Reckon we should go for luuk de jong if he does leave

Ed can you tell me anymore about Diame, whats nufcs chances of getting him, i know we dont get on great with willie mckay but surely weve got to look at him if Tiotes away {Ed013's Note - Well he is on a free so would suit your chairman very well, however Liverpool are interested in him. Also the only way Tiote will leave is if a Champions League club come in for him and I imagine it will take at least 20 million to get him}

Newcastle have been handed a transfer kitty rumoured to be in the region of £25 million.
It comes following their success this season which has seen Newcastle qualify for Europe and reap the rewards of over £50 million in revenue.
Mike Ashley will partly fund the transfer spree after finding faith that Alan Pardew is the man to trust with his own fortune.
Mike Ashley has also seen the opportunity for mammoth income if Newcastle can cement Champions Leauge football next season.
The money itself does mean that no big players will leave the club unless it is them who chooses to leave.
Pardew plans to use the money to bring in 2 full backs, 1 centre back, 1 central midfielder, 1 winger and a centre forward.
Debuchy is a done deal with Erik Peiters following soon after. The other targets are being kept under wraps at this point in time.
Alongside the £15 million set out for the redevelopment of the youth team expect this to be the busiest transfer window in recent memory for the toon army!

Erik peters has had a recurent foot problem all season that he just can not shake...this is a known fact so really cant see us going for him as we have had to many crocs over the years

With news of out TV revenue being 7th highest in the league, i could imagine that this is the case. However, i do still have a feeling that we'll lose 1 player this summer. My money is on Ba, and to be honest, as fantastic as he has been this season and despite him faltering after Cisse's arrival his attitude seems to have changed a little. I think he's looking for PSG to give him a bell

That is a very detailed comment. Hope you are right. Any insight how you know this. Not taking the **** just interested.

With the impending departures of Simpson and Guthrie and the possible arrival of Douglas is anyone concerned at the lack of English players who will be 1st team regulars next season?
Believable5
Unbelievable2
Suppose it is a little concern but what english players would make our team stronger? I wouldnt mind seeing moses in a toon shirt
Agree2

Not one bit, English players nowadays are far to over hyped, arrogant, demand higher wages and command higher price tags simply because they are English. You just have to compare the quality of the England team to the likes of Spain, France and many more to confirm it.
Just because a player is English does not mean that they should start. in all honesty i don't expect any of our starting line up to be English next season an don't really care.
I do however expect a few Academy players to start breaking through over the years, even more so if we are classed as class 1 in the new set up, meaning we can start bringing in players from further afield within the UK, as we have been limited by our location at present.

I do agree with you however with the way the league is ran you do not need a single english player in the squad just 8 who were trained in england professionally for 3 years before the age of 21... next season we will still have plenty of these players falling into that category...

Saylor deserves to be in the the first team next season he was class before getting injured.

Saylor would be going to teh Euro's had he not got injured he was playing that well. No way we would have conceded all those goals against Spurs/Fulham/Wigan etc if he was in the team instead of very over rated Williamson.
What about A Johnson, coul dreplace Ba when he goes and woudl fit in well in a 4-3-3?

Are you O'Neill in disguise?

Its a makem who thinks if we get rid of pardew they can get him themselves as he knows how to spot a decent player and does not mind working on limited funds like mon
