forget any big signings its all dreams, asset stripping is the reality. ba, won't come. big sam will have nolan on the phone to make sure he stays there, we can't and won't buy big players as they need big wages. at the start of the season there will be a statement saying we've invested in the future ie shane ferguson etc. sorry folks same old ashley!

Believable3 Unbelievable9

True! well said! !

Agree0 Disagree3

So much for ba not coming the deal is almost done

Agree2 Disagree0

we should have a loot at the availability of ryan bertrand if jose leaves, don't believe he is really considered at chelsea with ashley cole and PVA as back up? i no we are signing neil taylor but we have never had decent competition at lb for years! thoughts? JuniorJNR

Believable2 Unbelievable1

There's a lot here saying that we shouldnt worry about nolan leaving as we have cabaye, well apart from youtube videos i'm yet to be convinced he will be the success nolan has been.
obviously i do hope he will turn out to be better but we can't take that for a given.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Quote from nolans wiipedia page : On 15th June 2011 Nolan had a medical at West Ham and looked to be joining the London club however this didn't materialize as terms could not be agreed.

Agree0 Disagree3

Disagree Nolan apparently accepting a 55kwk 5yr deal (WelshToon)

Agree1 Disagree3

Nolan will be comfirmed today or tomorrow, sounds like you just don't want him to go, but he is end of and will be replaced by koumas or someone cheap and rubbish as usual

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2011 19:02:42
Nolan and Barton are going because they ran the changing room. .Pardew wants it back, Nolan on the decline, but I will miss Joey but with Tiote Ben Arfa Cabaye Gosling maybe Nzogbia we have a very exciting midfield what we need are a couple of pacy strikers, would love Sturridge

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Agree, coloccini is the man!

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jun 2011 19:00:47
the big question here is, who in hell is going to be our captain next year?steve's harper and taylor not guaranteed 1st team. by virtue of not having any other strikers, at this rate it's gonna be shola! !

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I think collocini! he's the leader in defence maybe he could be the leader of the team aswell?

Agree5 Disagree0

Easy Collocini

Agree6 Disagree0

Collocini

Agree1 Disagree0

Id like to see colo, but i think cabaye will be chosen as new captain

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2011 19:00:10
With the wage cap at NUFC you will not get any big name players this summer.(Nzogbia, Ba, ect)If you are such a BIG CLUB why is it when SAFC are linked with a player, home or abroad Nufc are also linked shortly after.Does Nufc Have its own scouts or do they rely on SAFC info
The Exodus begins:
Nolan -out
Barton-out
Jonas-out
Enrique-out
Coloccini-out
S Taylor-out
All this because Ashley has a crap wage structure! !
PS: Agent Ashley is a a makem! ! SAFC4LIFE

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Didn't see you signing Ben arfa, Tiote or cabaye! No your just going for man utd bench warmers like Gibson and brown. Your one to talk didn't your young star just leave? Ngog to come in? Oh how exciting for you mackems! Face it we are a bigger team than you! Bigger stadium, more passionate fans and able to beat you 5-1! Toon army! Howay the lads!

Agree9 Disagree1

Yeh and who gets those players look at ba for example sunderland arent even mentioned with him anymore look at barnetta never linked with sunderland looks a bit out of ur league same with cabaye and as for players leaving the fact is only enrique, nolan and barton will leave and fact is we are bringing in younger better players on lower salaries just look at sunderland.

gyan - leaving probs replaced with crouch if ur lucky lool

henderson - gone replaced with a man u reject who hardly made the squad

anouha- won't go to sunderland and probs won't want another year on loan to be replaced with brown who is 30 odd and didn't play a game for the man u first team last season.

i think that just about sums up how good sunderland r have fun in ur relagation battle.

Agree6 Disagree0

How about when all these players leave then you can run your mouth you horrible little runt.

Agree4 Disagree1

There are doubts over Newcastle United's transfer budget after the club only offered around £3m for the highly rated Toulouse full-back Cheikh M'Bengue, a bid rejected immediately by the French club who rate him closer to £9m.
quote by one of the big papers.
Now will you smelly skunks figure it out that the big spending days are over. You have bought nothing really and that cabaye only came because NOBODY else went for him. FTM.

Agree0 Disagree6

Haha nobody else wanted him lol he was wanted by a few priemier league clubs and some french and spanish ones and as fore mbengue i think you will find we have moved on to a better younger target and put more money into bigger players such as erding ect id like to know ur budget at the moment it seems like you will buy worse players and send out the better ones lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Yeah, don't pay average players massive wages. What a terrible structure!

Agree0 Disagree0

My god are you stupid? We bid £3m for M'Bengue and that means that we aren't going to spend anything? Just because the club values him at £9m doesn't mean everyone else does you gonk. Are all Mackems this stupid?

Just a quick survey.

Should we have sold Nolan

Agree:Yes Disagree:No

Believable20 Unbelievable10

15 Jun 2011 18:53:14
All this about nolan being gutted at being sold etc is getting boring, if players absolutely do not want to sign for another team they don't have to and are not forced, he has 2 yrs left on his contract therefore no matter what happens he can say no im not going im staying, the club would have to pay him and the manager would play him albeit maybe not as much as he would like, that goes for carroll aswel, no player that is under contract can be forced out, part of them wants to go! Barton smith nolan colocinni all to old and on too high wages for the current regime therefore expect their departures, gutierrez and enrique will then follow, probably lovenkrands, lua lua and guthrie aswel, just hope ash nd co have got some quality replacements lined up otherwise a team of unproven young 'uns equals relegation battle next yr.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

15 Jun 2011 18:34:22
would only take notice of toon rumours if the player is under 26 and cheap so sell on value can be maximised. probably gonna only pay around 9 million tops once and any other signings will be closer to the 5 million mark and under. Durham mag

Believable1 Unbelievable0

15 Jun 2011 18:18:26
Is Nolan bein forced out or does he want to leave

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Both ha

Agree1 Disagree0

Suspect a bit of both here. newcastle reluctant to give hime a good contract suggests they think they can find better, but why would he go to championship side when he has a good 2 months yet to find a prem side. or he severely lacks any ambition at all.

if he stayed at toon and had another season like last, an injury to lamps or gerrard could easily have resulted in him going to the euro's.

Agree2 Disagree3

15 Jun 2011 18:18:24
Really though, unless you are a mackem, WHY THE F*** would anyone choose sunderland over newcastle like?????

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Wages? that would be it!

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh my god who do u think u are barcelona youre just a laughing stock

Agree2 Disagree2

Because sunderland aren't run by a set of muppets, we have a better training setup, we have ambition, our stadium is not a landfill site like yours, we can afford bigger wages than you, our players aren't thugs and cause unrest in the dressing room and finally we have finished north east top dogs 3 years running soon to be 4 so plenty of reasons to select the top dogs over screwcastle! SGBS

Agree1 Disagree4

Wages? Why do you think you can offer higher wages?

Agree4 Disagree1

How do class sign 30 year olds off the mancs ambition you tit and better stadium you wish 15k + empty seats every week unless take that's there now get yer sell bak down penny well for some smack. SMB

Agree5 Disagree0

Sunderland have ambition? Yeah, signing no-named Koreans sure is ambitious. Theres a lad in the Egyptian second division you might want to look at in that case.

just read on sky sports that sam allardyce hopes to sign to proven premier league quality players in the next 48 hours, my guess is that they are kevin nolan and joey barton. mike ashley better be looking at bringing in at least 2 star players + a few more, with the 50 mil hes got from selling our 3 best players.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Its not defo not barton!

Agree2 Disagree0

I would put my money on Diouf.

A close source told me that newcastle has.joined in the war for real Madrids top striker , the h guy . .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As amazing as that would be, why would Higuain want to play for us?

Agree3 Disagree0

Exactly

Agree2 Disagree0

Higuain ! ha ha ha wil yous sad mags get your heads out of the clouds and start bein realistic ! the reason why safc are talking about gibson , brown , wong don , ngog , etc. is because we are not as starry eyed as you mags ! the simple fact is neither of us are going to pay big wages so stop exaggerating about who yous are targeting ! ! get real and stop thinking that yous are man city , chelsea , man u , or any other top 6 team because both of us wil only get what they don't want !

Wow. . spelling mistakes much? Yes Ed. .why don't you take my comments off. .you know i'm making a good point though or you wouldn't have put it on :D. .now mr mackem in disguise. .get off our banter page

15 Jun 2011 17:07:13
ryan giggs and paul scholes are well past it. but still fergie wants them to play on. why? bcos they have passion leadership and a winning mentality. this is why it is a mistake to get rid of both nolan and barton. we need at least one of them to keep playin be it for only one more season. it would make a world of a difference in passing on the passion and tradition and team spirit at nufc to the new players.
ashleys idea believe or not i think is good, but he wants to get to that point too quickly, he is being greedy and changing too much too quickly. for newcastles sake i hope it works out but boy is ashley makin it hard for us. .no matter how big the signings are this summer it wud b vital to at least keep barton and let him go next season, i think one season more with barton would make all the difference. ashley has no patience and i hope it doesn't have a detrimental effect.
still remaining positive though. i see gardiner as a squad player signing, he prob won't be in 1st team, but is cheaper younger version of nolan. we need some more domestic squad players like this or for our first team. too many foreign players too quickly could lead to a team full of players who lack loyalty.
i love kevin nolan, good luck to him in the future he is a player of such sentimental value to us, and i hope he gets the applause he deserves when (trust he will get west ham promoted) he is back at SJP in the future! Kevin Nolan whata hero. Gona miss his celebration too!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

15 Jun 2011 16:39:00
You know what, this is starting to get on my nerves. We're geordies ffs, and all I've read for the past few days is b**ching and moaning about the owner, the manager, whose coming in, whose going out! ! There are 2 and a half months left before the window closes. .if some players leave, we can bring new players in. We already have Cabaye, and Abeid, with it looking like a few more on the way. What happened to the geordies that used to be behind the team, and believe in them no matter what happened? Some of you don't even deserve to "support" this team. You may as well be mackems, because ur disgracing the club with all ur moaning. I aint a fan of Ashley, but I do admire him for attempting to balance the books, and wanting to bring in young talent. So Nolan might be going, yes he's a good captain, but he's passed it, he can run, and to be perfectly honest the goals he scores aren't through skill, they're pure luck because he's a poacher. He wouldn't get into the team next season anyway, do you really see him replacing either Tiote or Cabaye in CM? Joey can go too, he's starting to get a bit too lippy for my liking. If Enrique doesn't wanna stay then good riddence, if he doesn't wanna be a part of this great team, then he can do one in my opinion. As for Jonas. .all he's good for is tripping up and getting free kicks, other than that he aint got that much quality behind him. With Ben Arfa coming back from injury, and the possibility of Zoggy coming back, surely they're gonna be on the wings therefore no place for Jonas. Start moaning about the team we have once the window shuts and no one else has come in, but in my opinion that isn't gonna happen. Oh and to the guy who says Nolan is worth 15 million. .LMFAO. .get off Newcastle's page and get yourself down to the nearest sports shop and buy yourself a Sunderland shirt. .cos seriously we don't need idiots like you as Newcastle fans. . 15 million. . LMFAO! ! !

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree with alot that youve said mate. I feel same about ashley too and we already have 2 good signings and the window has barely started. Although you did mention one thing about wingers, if zoggy does come back (and i hope he does) then he will play left and i think jonas will play his preferred right mid position again as earlier in the season pardew stated that ben arfa would be taking up a more central role. So i think he will probably play behind the striker. But a midfield 5 of tiote cabaye n'zogbia gutierrez and ben arfa sound pretty dangerous and sounds like it could get us a good few goals!

Agree5 Disagree0

Yes well he worth that are you a mackem you person he is worth about 10million

Agree0 Disagree2

Im the guy im making a point hes not worth 4 million and you can down to newcastle shop and buy a nufc shirt saying on the back mackem in disguise cos you clearly making out you are a mackem!

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol. .whoever the dude above is. .stop trying to steal my glory lol. . i wrote that shiz :D. . also. .yes. .totally i'm a mackem. .that's why i'm a NUFC season ticket holder and haven't missed a home game in 20 years. . tell you what, if you still have the box your computer came in, pack it up, and take it back, cos seriously you don't deserve to have a computer with your idiotic comments

Agree0 Disagree1

Now that bit is outta the way, back to talking about football. To be honest mate, I don't think Jonas is good enough, like Shola he has his moments where he is a fantastic player, but those moments are all too rare. However i do agree that Ben Arfa would most probably play behind the striker, but i'd prefer to have 2 up front. .so that would mean having to play 3-4-1-2 as a formation. .i suppose Saylor, Colo, and Enrique/Naylor at the back wouldn't be terrible. Pardew keeps saying he wants to play more attacking football. .so i reckon that would be his best choice for a formation with Ben Arfa playing off the strikers. Either that or play 4-3-1-2

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jun 2011 16:08:56
Iam the most annoyed nufc fan ever nolan medical at west ham does nolan realise he is taking a step down to the championship i feel sick. 4 million he is worth about 15mil he is defently worth more than henderson. now it will be enrique then barton then jonas our owner is destroying our TEAM!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Nolan worth 15m, come on son give your head a shake. Henderson was vastly over priced, so you can not compare the two.
Yes, he did well for us, and we'll always be grateful. However, there appears to be no place for him in the side next season, if we do get some of the players we are after. Would you have Nolan instead of Ben Arfa, or if playing 442 a second out and out striker.
The fact that Nolan himself has accepted a championship club say a lot, even he knows that his legs are going.
Cheers Kev, we wish you well.

Agree6 Disagree0

Youll be playing against him next season in the fizzy pop league

I am a Liverpool fan but have a soft spot for Newcastle
can't believe Nolan is on the verge of signing for West ham, if a wage cap has been put in place then whoever

looks like the fat controller is at it again ! stirring all yous mags up with the sale of nolan , barton , enrique , jonas probably tiote ( don't mention his contract ) ! so much for him spending all the carroll money ! hes taking yous for a ride once again . when are yous going to learn ? the ashley circus is back in town ! ! ( no wonder parew is saying he needs to buy 6 players )

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I assume your a mackem in which case, their are big differences: Sunderland have sold their best players (overated though) (henderson and soon Gyan), and have brought in Man U rejects. Newcastle however have lost Campbell and Kuqi who were useless and brought in a young french international. Newcastle maybe about to sell Nolan but he can be replaced. Also N'zog would never come to you, as you have nothing to offer that we can't easily beat.

Agree2 Disagree0

Dont bet on it

Agree1 Disagree0

As ive said on numerous occasions lets wait and see who we both sign but bet its not who yous are expecting ! thort yous would of realised what ashley is like by now ! !

Agree0 Disagree0

What about when yous sell barton , enrique , jose , alredy sold carroll and nolan are yous going to replace them aswell ! ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay, so we might have to do with just beating you 3-0 next season. Psycho

15 Jun 2011 14:42:11
We don't need Nolan if we have two quality strikers! Nolan is not a box to box player, he isn't a great creator, he is a poacher in the box we will be much better off playing with two out and out strikers.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Gutted about nolan and doubt barton will stay along with enrique. Although don't agree enrique is as highly valued as they saying (15 m) hopefully this youth policy works and flourishes but doubt it

Eeh youre finally seeing the light

Not seeing the light! its more being realistic. can't compete financially with top of the league and realise some players are over rated and over priced

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2011 14:33:10
thank god he selt nolan barton next two of them got no pace was like watching a slug race last season been good servants but we need exciting players with pace roll on kick off time

Believable1 Unbelievable3

15 Jun 2011 14:18:38
Why is everyone getting annoyed about Nolan leaving? He is slow now and think how slow he would be in five years (he wanted a 5 year contract), he wouldn't even be able to make our first team next season with cabaye and tiote playing in midfiled so what would be the point of having him as a substitute where he would probably complain and hand in a transfer request anyway?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He motivated the team, gave us team spirit

Agree2 Disagree0

Think they getting rid of the strong characters at the club so they can steamroller rest of team. They prob think it will make us more easily manageable as a team

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Jun 2011 14:04:03
Right. Nolan looks to be going to the Hammers. Good luck to him. Barton MAY well go next. Enrique also.

2 points:
1) As much as us supporters like these players (and we do get attached and not like to see 'good' players move on, we do need better international standard to come in, especially the likes of Cabaye, Barnetta etc. who are better than who we look like shipping out and are still progressing, if we are to move forward and upwards. I know Ba looks very possible but I believe we also need 2 more out and out goalscorers.

2) More importantly, we cannot just go out and get free transfers and mediocre championship players to mix in with the squad. We need characters and personality to come in so not to lose team spirit. Perch, Rotledge etc. brought nothing to the club (no disrespect intended).

So. Mr Ashley, I don't think you have been under such pressure as to bring in the right players. Quality, not quantity. I understand and agree with the wage structure etc but we need the players to come in who can make a difference!

Psycho

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Spot on pal, just think everyone should calm down until the transfer window shuts. Then, if we havnt got the quality of players that we want then go on. For all we know he could be getting top quality players to replace them going out of the club.

(NufcSmith)

Agree3 Disagree0

Good point but westham havnt got wage buget 4 nolan so he won't be goin ther

Believable1 Unbelievable1

He'll prob get the 5 year deal he wanted at newcastle, its more about security of job than anything. . don't forget he's 29 atm and in 5 years obv maths says he'll be 34, and will prob be on about 30k per week at the hammers

Apparently the olan is having a medical at West Ham. MADNESS.

I just hope we are getting good money for him and have a replacement lined up.

My concern with all this European scouting is that we will have a team completely made up of Johnny Foreignors andf although Cabaye is a good signing and brings welcomed quality it needs to be mixed with some good old fashioned British spirit. I can't get my head around what teh club is trying to do, our spirit kept us up last year and yes it can only take you so far so we needed to add a bit more quality to what we had not rip it up and start again. If we do not get off to a good start next year I can see a relegation battle with players not willing/able to roll their sleeves up and grind out results. . . haven't we been here before! !

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I think yous have lost a good player and a character on the pitch ( which teams need ) if nolan goes to west ham . get your money on west ham winning championship if he goes !

not too bothered if nolan goes, seems like a bit of a trouble maker, isn't the best player, is past it (getting slower) and just goes mising in games. hes a good captain but we should be aiming for better players than him

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree, when does Nolan ever stand out as a man of the match? Sure he scored 3 against Sunderland and has chipped in with important goals but other than that he's just there. If we sign some good strikers he won't even be missed, we have more than enough capable midfielders now.

Nolan off to West Ham for 5mil makes Ashleys net spend so far -£700,000
but we are about to land 3 players(Ba, Taylor & Erdinc) in the next 9 days so ill wait till sept 1st before assessing the spending

but in all honesty where was nolan gonna fit in this season coming if we play 1 up top with someone off the striker it would be ben arfa if we play 2 up top wed have Cabaye and Tiote in the Middle this transfer is a sign the club is moving forward replacing players with better ones . . its a shame but its a very good move for both clubs and the player so all the best Kev

Shearer too expensive for club management wants £1.2m. Maybe England ?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

No chance. If he wants that kind of money to manage in the Championship he'll never get a job. Who is going to pay a guy with 8 games experience managing a pretty much already relegated team, that kind of wage?

15 Jun 2011 12:49:43
Miralem Sulejmani looks a good player, pace to burn and real skill but would cost more than N'Zogbia and is no better and is unproven IN PL. Dont think he is an out and out forward and for that is what we need.

who started Gervinho rumour? Made thousands of Toon fans believe wrongly as it turns out. We never had any chance it was always Arse, we all wrote to him at Facebook, he really never had any intention of joining us. Made complete fools of us {Ed001's Note - I don't know who started it but the club did try and convince him, I wonder if it was more about appeasing the fans over the loss of Nolan though? So they can say it is not their fault if big signings don't materialise with all the money that is being brought in from player sales? Or perhaps it was because Arsenal never actually made a move until after Newcastle starting talks, so there was a chance at first?}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Shut up man we keeping the shola bros upfront

Agree2 Disagree3

Would have finished 9th last year if we had a manager who realised the importance of the last game.
next year is massive for the club we are taking huge risks offloading proven 1st team players who have created agood team spirit over the past 2years.
i think nufc will challenge for european places if all these foreign players who we are linked gel and show similar team spirit to what we had previous

I hope I'm the first to say 'haha, Brucie's selling gyan.' we told you so! Sunderland will have sold their two best players and bought man u rejects. Mind you I wouldn't mind us putting in a cheeky bid for Gyan.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Dare i mention carroll , nolan , barton , tiote , enrique ! you fool ,

Agree1 Disagree5

Why tiote?

Agree3 Disagree2

Coz he is away aswell ive heard !

Agree1 Disagree5

Doubt it. Signed a new 6 year deal and seems a very loyal player. If he does leave it will be for rediculous money

Agree4 Disagree0

The differece is we replacing with young european talent ur just gettin cast offs! W.Brown lol gotta laugh (WelshToon)

Agree1 Disagree2

Would rather replace with tried and tested british players rather than foreign prima donnas who hide when the weather gets a bit wet and cold ! when are yous mags goin to learn ! ! ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Contracts mean nothing these days mate if tiote wants to go he wil go ! im sure bent was under contrac before he left for villa and carroll before he went to lpool !

its abot time uze mags got realistic nd stopd thinkin that evry gud player that's available is cumin 2 uze ! most of the players uze hav mentioned hav alredy gone 2 beta clubs wher ther chairman wudnt sell tha mother if the price woz rite ! !

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Go to school if there's any available in scumberland, then feel free to comment you jealous idiot.

Agree7 Disagree0

Sorry mate you fickle mags have obviously forgiven all the wrong doings of your fat chairman ! he will be selling yous to the highest bidder come august ! !

Agree0 Disagree5

Is it because the players your getting linked to are not good enough. Like darren gibson and o'shea. And now i hope you realise how poor you really are as even o'shea has rejected you! Now that's a kick in the teeth!

Agree5 Disagree1

I think you will find darren gibson woz playing in the champions league last season and theirs no shame in leaving man u for first team football ! at least it shows he wants to play football and not just sit on the bench and pick up a wage every week ! wish there were more players like him . as for o shea he would give us a bit of experience but wouldn't be bothered either way . i think we both need to take a step back and see who we get because theirs better teams out there going for the same players as us !

Agree4 Disagree2

The papers are saying darren gibson isn't keen on a move to a poor club like sunderland its alex ferguson pushing him out, gibson is quite happy to sit on the bench at man u

Agree1 Disagree2

Thats not what i have heard . deal is nearly done and quotes off gibson are saying he is happy to leave for regular football . i personally think he will be a good signing but we will just have to wait and see .

Agree1 Disagree0

He would say that though wouldn't he? Man U fans hate him so he doesn't want more club's fans to dislike him b4 he even signs.
