Good to see Mark Hughes make his mark on another team. Already QPR have become a bunch of cloggers.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Not sure Derry would have done that to Tiote - not if he still wanted to have children!!

I wished for 6th place, but we are now level on points with arsenal and 3 points below champions league position. . . lacklustre perfomance today, but good result. . . iToon

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Yup really riding our luck

Agree2 Disagree0

Coming from a SMB that was celebrating an offside goal the other week.

we should be looking at danny graham he was fantastic today against the gunners and the lad is a gordie and newcastle is his club would suit owa stlye of play and he can score goals is 26 so would fit the bill to

Cab aye injury not too serious. A simple amputation should see him return fairly soon.

I think Guthrie is on something he has been different class this season ha

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agreed, hes done the job when we've needed him

Agree3 Disagree0

Also got to mention williamson aswell, hasnt put a foot wrong in the games hes played, especially considering he was injured for a while. Santon looks like a quality replacement for jose, cant beleive hes only 20 and playing like that

Agree3 Disagree0

Williamson has been amazing since coming back from injury and never gets enough credit. What's that 3 clean sheets in 5 games since he came back?

Agree2 Disagree0

Williamson has aways been good. I was at his 1st game for us. his heading was so good i dont think he missed one all game. since then i have been a big fan of his.

1 shot all game on goal if ba goes than ?????? who will get the goals

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Leon best obviously

Agree5 Disagree1

Like its alreday been said! if ba wasnt playin g then another player will have been and given the game time that BA has had may have also scored goals! maybe not as many as BA but still goals scored! this is what a squad is for and even though BA is our best striker leon showed he can score given a chance and it will have done his confidence the world of good

What the heck formation were we playing today? At time we had HBA Jonas and Raylor all playing right wing. Looked very odd to see all the changes in position when Pardew is usually a religious 442?
Guthrie was quality, lets not forget hes been out for 6 weeks, he just slotted right back in. Very impressive.
Another point, why does Pardew bring Perch on to see out a game? He is absolutely useless.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Don't know what the formation was but Jonas as the playmaker was very effective in the middle of the park. May have to try him there again. I agree about Guthrie, another good showing. HBA was the only major spark and Shola was useless but there's no surprise there.
A good, hard earned 3 points.

Agree3 Disagree1

I think id rather have perch upfront than shola

Agree2 Disagree3

Perch was brought on to shut up shop and it work not upset we didnt score loads happy with the 3 points and a clean sheet
marknufc

Agree2 Disagree0

When he took Best off for Perch we just invited them onto us because they didnt have anything to worry about at the back. If Pardew keeps doing that against good teams we will get punished.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was lost with the formation too - unusual for Pardew to allow so much freedom and switching to happen. When Jonas moved more central he was brilliant - him and guthrie too. Perch was brought on after QPR made a attacking substitution by bringing on a forward for a defender. I think he would have come on at about 5-10 mins left, and not 15, if they hadnt of made that sub.

Agree1 Disagree0

Shutting up shop with Perch on.

Play like that against Fulham, Blackburn ect and you will get beat, one shot on target at home, QPR made you lot look cr*p, god help you if Ba and Krul get sold

Believable4 Unbelievable10

Done enough to get the job done!!

Agree6 Disagree4

6th :)

Agree7 Disagree4

Not a great performance. They was more than one shot on target but typical Sky. Either way 3 points for playing bad I ll take it. Now jog back to your own sight. The gap is only getting bigger.

Agree5 Disagree3

And if we play like we did against Man U then we will stuff them. Playing bad and getting the points is what good teams do.

Agree5 Disagree1

Ok we kept a clean sheet and took the 3point thats all that counts at the end the day and moved up to 6th and all yous ppl want to do is have a go just leave it out a nd worry about your team and we wil do the worrying about ours
marknufc

Agree5 Disagree1

Just the mackems starting to worry again man dont let it gef to us. there honeymoon period with martin neil is over and there only target for the season which is to finish above us is slipping away. well done the lads today done well to get the win

Agree4 Disagree2

Because we lost to chelsea 1-0 away? come off it, we matched chelsea and should of at least got a point, we have a couple of home games to close the gap and you lot have a couple of away games which if you play like you did today you will lose, against man utd you had ba and tiote in the team and you were lucky that man utd played very poor, just to point out to the geordie who said there was more than one shot, I Watched the full game and you had one shot on target which was the goal and that was it, QPR i think had 9 shots on target

Agree2 Disagree3

Good teams play bad and win

Agree4 Disagree1

Funny how the Mackem comes on here and says we were lucky against Man Utd. Were we lucky they played bad or was it that we played really well. Good teams play bad and win which is what we did today. Saying that we defended very well. Krul's saves were pretty routine.

Agree5 Disagree2

Jonas shot which was headed off the line was a shot on target so that makes 2. Does it really matter. We won and is now 12 points. Reference Ba and Tiote when they come back we will be stronger along with the new signings. What you going to do. Same sqaud still S**T. SMB.

Agree6 Disagree1

Its just the normal mackem spouting his mouth before thinking saying we played bad we where solid at the back and yes lacked a bit going forward but another clean sheet and another 3 points to the total that is all that counts not the smb point of few he just sounds miffed cos where having a better season than them while spending very little just sad really cos he just making himself sound like a kid that has spat out his tummy
marknufc

Agree2 Disagree1

Tell them mackems to have a go when we get beat, not when we play crap and win,it doesnt say in the records"newcastle play crap and got 3 points" it says "newcastle win" and still 12points above the scum.

Agree3 Disagree1

If you keep a clean sheet you only need one shot if it goes in simples.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ryan taylor had a free kick saved

Agree2 Disagree0

Look if we score from just one attempt at goal as the mackem says. Well then how good does that make us ,blooming brilliant that's what.Toon Toon.

After watching that for 90 mins we are desperate for a striker. Hope these Endring rumours are true.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

A striker with pace hopefully

Agree4 Disagree1

Sad to say it but Bothroyd looked more effective than Shola. Strolla looked like a cart horse. Fitness is shocking.

Agree5 Disagree1

Shola was awful, if we cant sign a striker on a permanent basis in the next few weeks we may aswell stick a loan bid in for lukaku

Agree2 Disagree1

Lukaku can't be loaned this season and how Ameobi has managed to stay at Newcastle for over 10 years is beyond me.

Agree2 Disagree1

Wrong he canit go out on loan to prem club that was the crack when the first brought him in

Agree1 Disagree0

He wont come im sick of going for him hes already turned us down twice

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes he can

Agree0 Disagree1

I believe lukaku would be available for loan in jan, i think the rule is you cant play for 3 different teams in one year. obviously january is the start of a new year so he can move, i may be mistaken though {Ed007's Note - Under FIFA statute a player can be registered for no more than three clubs in one season but he can only play in official matches for two of them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2012 15:26:44
i think today would have been a great opportunity to score 3 or 4 but there was no urgency in our play whatsoever. 1 shot on target, if qpr werent so poor they would have won. good win, frustrating performance. Also ameobi is like my arse, how he has played at this level for a decade is baffling

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Thing is we had to tread careful. They would all of been out to impress sparky and we was missing BA and TIOTE too. It was a potential banana skin that game and an ugly win will do me every time tbh.

watching the game via text (working), whats the news on Cabaye? Its says he was stretchered off, but gives no details as to what happened or any updates.... please let me know??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ankle injury, doesnt seem to bad apparently but he cant put weight on it but then again he is french, probably just a bruise

Agree2 Disagree0

He went down like a big bairn after shoving derry thats what happened

Agree1 Disagree1

They reckon hes in the huff cos it took 3 minutes for pardew, team mates and physio to believe he was hurt.

blimey, just seen fat Ashley on the telly, only, he wasn't so fat. is he on a diet?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

He's slimmed down almost as much as our transfer budget!

Agree4 Disagree0

He's spent all the money on liposuction and going to the gym!

Agree2 Disagree0

Its all the worry over the current economical crisis the guy has lost more than half his wealth with his shares

Bizarre story here! Eden Hazard has reportedly been spotted at Newcastle's training ground by sky sports! Could possibly be because it was Cabaye's birthday yesterday, and they were both friends. Reason I am so intrieged is because Lille have an important match tonight, and why would Lille let their star player fly to England the day before?
CoulthToon {Ed001's Note - Newcastle used to let Owen fly to training every day, why is it a surprise? I am sure Sky will love it, because now they will get a few hopeful punts on their betting arm for him to join Newcastle.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

This is sooooo unlikely he will move i am willing to run nude if he did.....

Agree1 Disagree0

Sky reporter actually said he read it on twitter and we all know what twitter rumours are like

I hate the transfer market, you can never believe anyone,, skysports state we aren't in for Cisssokho with no quotes what so ever,, but then half the press claim hes having a medical on monday,,, tbh i believe ssn, cos the press claimed demba ba was going to leave newcastle according to his agent which just wasnt his agent whereas ssn focused on the facts stating tht demba ba doesnt want to leave but wouldnt turn down psg which is understandable because thts his home team,, ed what do you think, do you think the press like messing with the newcastle fans because they will believe in anything which may benefit the club? because i do (ToonThomas) {Ed001's Note - the press just like to make up bull (and I include SSN in this) to get people to buy papers, click links or watch their channel. SSN also like to stir up betting markets for their betting arm as well. It has become impossible to trust anyone these days, unfortunately, makes like extra difficult when you don't know who to trust.}
