Was he playing for England? dont recall seeing him touching the ball a lot or being mentioned by the commentators very much he was that bad....we dont need him and should be looking at spending money on someone much better if we have it to spend.

I have it on good authority that Debuchy is still trying to push through a move to ourselves. Lille are apparently unhappy with the way Newcastle have gone about this transfer and have accepted a number of bids from various other clubs including Inter Milan whilst they try to demand a higher fee from ourselves. Rightly so the board are refusing to be made a mug of. However as Debuchy is desperate to join us and link up with Yohan he has rejected all other approaches. Expect this transfer to go through around the last day of the window. We will not make any further approaches for Ola Toivonen as a number of clubs are now after him including the mackems and we refuse to enter a bidding war. We're currently in low key discussions with Seydou Doumbia and CSKA so hopefully he will be coming through the door shortly. Anita wants to be guaranteed, if fit a starting place every week. Expect this deal to go through over the weekend.

All that sounds plausible. However, I think a player who demands a regular starting place every game is pushing it slightly. Can't see our lot accepting that.

Not saying i don't find this credible, but does anyone know what kind of wages Doumbia is on, given that he's at CSKA and they tend to give out a lot of cash to compensate for.. you know, playing on plastic etc
