Im going go 2-2 also. I don't think scoring goals will be to difficult this season for us (I hope) but not conceding them, that's a different story. not sure how far we can go with the "we will score 1 more than you" approach

I think Tiote is a liability the fouls he gives away close to the box just invite teams to deliver quality balls in that we have proven for 2 seasons we cannot deal with. I think we should be getting more than £8m for him from Arsenal when you consider they got £15m for Song who is no better than Tiote.
Daily Star reporting that Grenier wants to leave Lyon so for me he would be a perfect replacement. He and Colback would be a replacement for the Cabaye/Tiote roles that were so important the season we finsied 5th. Colback can do what Tiote is supposed to do, break up play and keep possession with simple passes.
Grenier's vision and passing ability into the likes of SDJ/Cabella/Riviere makes the mouth water.

Totally agree spiretoon.
Colback is better with the ball at his feet than Tiote but still has the strength to break up play. Tiote is strong but that's all he gives us.
Still can't believe we haven't got Grenier yet, why are we waiting? Our midfield would be top class with creativity from everywhere. All I can think is that they think our midfield is strong enough bad strikers and defenders are more of a priority.
We need to get Grenier now before he ends up at Inter or AC Milan.

We seem to have enough energy in midfield to make up for Tiote being absent. I'd like to see sissoko through the middle. I thought we'd signed Vierra when he first joined.

Clichy was picked ahead of Richards at right back on Sunday, surely that means he's definitely available. We have to snap him up, a massive improvement on Steven Taylor and can also cover Janmaat.
And apparently we want Joel Campbell on loan, I really don't see the point in developing him for arsenal, I'd rather we just buy him but would pay max £9million. He would be good in a 3 of Campbell-SDJ-Cabella behind rivière. Another potential signing is Wilfried Zaha, so Campbell and Zaha could be replacements for HBA and Jonas, wouldn't mind that.
We simply cannot be humiliated by City on Sunday like the start of last season, we need to keep the morale up and get a good start.

I think Citeh are a wounded animal after the Charity Shield and Janmaat apart we are rubbish defensively. Haidara cannot/does not defend so Dummet should play ahead of him and Collo keeps getting caught wrong side or under the ball so I have this sick feeling that we will get panned, either that or it will be a 3-3 cracker.

I see Southampton have signed Shane Long for 12m. It highlights the great business we have done in the transfer window and probably why we haven't signed a striker.
