im am totally surprised that everybody on here is totally surprised that shola was awful again tonight. the bloke is awful full stop. we should play ba from now on as he is starting to look sharper. Ryan taylor is a liability in defence, santon should have started. tiote was below par tonight and didnt look fit at all. overall delighted to have somehow come away with a point but expected all 3 before kick off. Our luck from the opening 4 games will run out at somepoint. we play long balls from the back and bypass cabaye who will be our most creative player.

Lets have a review after 4 games
Both CH are in great form
Tiote is not at last years level
Jonas has been spending to much time covering the LB.
We have not had an offensive approach in any game so strikers are not going to have many chances
Looking forward bring in Santon results Jonas or Marvaux take up a attacking role.Cabeye & Tiote get greater understanding and we drive from the CM.
HBA returns Ba gets more chances
Only need 32 points more for safety

Agree0 Disagree1

Ba's looking better now he's not fasting for Ramadan any more, but that ruins loads of Muslim players' pre-season - witness Emre's slow starts for us. The problem with Santon is that, to my knowledge, he only speaks Italian, and there are no Italian speakers in the squad, so his communication will be, for a month or so, pretty dreadful. That's why he's being eased in. As for Ameobi, he can be useful, but not when we're playing that kind of football. He can hold up play reasonably but those massive kicks up to him with only Best any where near him were pointless. He's best from crosses - hopefully Obertan will be able to supply him better. Also, has anybody noticed now Best doesn't feel the need to shoot at literally every opportunity he is a much better player? When we were in the Championship he shot whenever the ball came near him, he was so desperate to score...

Agree1 Disagree1

Disagree with the ameobi statement, he is truly awful in every aspect of play, id rather have heskey. we need HBA back asap for some creativity and pace. hopefully he wont be constantly injured

Agree1 Disagree0

Both Colo and Jonas are of Italian descent and Colo spent a good amount of time in Italy so he should definitely know something.

Also Vuckic is Slovenian and they all tend to speak Italian which is why many of their players are currently in Serie A and excelling.

We also have Zamblera in the reserves somewhere. He was last spotted challenging Samuel Adjei to a game of Jumanji.

Couldn't agree more with earlier post, give Marvreaux or Sammy a run up front, with one of the big strikers. Whats the point of winning headers and flicking it on if no one can run on to it. Should help when BA is back (will add pace), but need a short term fix, now... we are far to predictable at the moment.

Well i said i would be happy with a draw and in the end we was lucky to get it. Ashley will see the folly of not getting a fwd in after watching that tonight. Great defending again saves the day but other clubs like man u ,city and chelsea would bury those chances. Cant help worrying we are on borrowed time. Shola was awful and i like him but he was awful tonight. Ba looked better but cant figure out how he got so many goals in such a poor W.Ham team yet cant get near with us. LUCKY 2NITE.

Well we were battered tonight and Ryan Taylor was ran ragged. Mr Pardew, you have signed a 6m left back, NOW play him. Leave Shola and Ba on the bench, play Best with someone who has pace, Sammy or Marvaux, we are too plodder and easily marked as we are with 2 slow forwards! Defence has tightened up but i cannot see where any goals will come from. But on the other hand too, have we played anyone yet? NO!!! Poor Arsenal team,Scumderland,Fulham and QPR? Pardew has a long season ahead of him. Please Fat Boy Ashley, sell up and take Lamearse with you back down south!!!!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

1 question I can't help asking, are you ever going to be happy?!? yes we havn't played that well in our opening games, but we still have 8 points, that means approx 32 more to stay up, remember we are only in our second season back in the big time, a point away to a new side at home on a monday night, with 6 or so new players all looking to impress is a good result, agree that Taylor is out of his depth, my opinion is hes a back up player or a regular championship player, instead of screaming for the board to go, get behind the team, thers nothing a new board could do until January anyway, get a sense of perspective!

Nice to see that you now have options of dropping players and bringing other ones in...the lads were'nt at there best but give some credit for there start this season 4 games unbeaten in the hardest league in the world.....those are 4 hard games as all games in this league are hard games, so start backing your team, will ya

a point playing rubbish is a good point. overview Jonal is awful give Marveax or Sammyammy a run out Denba Ba looked good when he came on so drop Shola from the squad (he was abyismal??) RTaylor out Santon in Obertan (whats he meant to do) out Gosling in next game Kru....l simpson taylor Collo santon......gosling tiote cabaye SamAmiobe.... Ba Best

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Disagree here - I think Obertan was one of our best players. Tiote and Cabye were non existent tonight and the defence had to work much harder than it should of!

I think our best starting 11 is a 4231 - Krul
Raylor, Saylor Collo Santon
Cabaye, Tiote
Obertan, Ben Arfa, Jonas
Ba

Then with Sammy, Best & Marveaux as attacking options from the bench that doesnt look to bad?

Marveaux to replace Jonas in the starting 11 from now on. Please.

GutiƩrrez should be left to the bench in future, what a waste of space. Only remotely good players tonight were Best and S.Taylor the rest of the team looked very poor. Happy for the point, but need to be better. Again thanks to S.Taylor for saving us a point.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Jonas had a off night ,got wacked bad couple of times too, thought he was gonna come off at one point.

Agree1 Disagree0

Got to say, I personally thought Cabaye was our best player. Didn't creat any chances but broke things down in QPR' s midfield and barely misplaced a pass. Great signing.

Tiote was poor needs to get his act together and Ba impressed when he came on. R.Taylor, no comment.

isn't it about time Pardew acctully have sammy ameobi some real game time, really impressed in his 7 minutes on the field today, it's annoying to see a player like obertan play poorly and still maintain 80 minutes.

Bloody hell shola's playing sh1te.
Obertan though is looking promising, and simpson's doing better. Ryan Taylor's defending is abysmal, think santon should get the shout next match.

Does anyone else think 4th place is up for grabs this season? I mean I know it sounds ridiculous but if you think about it, man u/city have 1st/2nd place wrapped up, Chelsea is trundling behind in 3rd. That leaves 4th for either: Liverpool (overrated and Sunderland held them of so we should), tottenham (overrated and weakened dispite what most think), Arsenal (significantly weakened most likely will underperform) and then they're is a wild card which could with a good run of form be us. I know it's ridiculous but even if we don't get 4th theres always a chance (increased with a striker bought in jan) that we could make Europa. Scottoon.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

WE havent played anyone yet, Poor Arsenal side,Scumderland,Fulham and QPR? Give your head a shake 4th spot. With current strikeforce i would be happy with 4th bottom in may and no matter what anyone thinks, Fat Boy will NOT buy a top striker in Jan unless we get him for 4m and 20k a week!!!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree1

We wont get 4th ,be lucky not to go down after watching 2nite. What we gonna do defend for dear life all season , cause we don't look like ever scoring . Simply have to get a proven striker in in jan even if its just a loan.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ha i want some of what you're on mate, we'll repeat last season, higher bottom half, never really threaten europe and never be in trouble of relegation, and i for one will be ecstatic with that! so no, 4th isn't up for grabs, at least not with regards to us

Agree1 Disagree0

4Th my ar** we have a worse team now than the one that went down, our season has be lucky up to now, who is going to score for us against the bigger teams? A few injuries to our paper thin squad will show every one outside the club how the Fat Controllers penny pinching has been. There are more cuts going on here than Cameron's Tory/lib coalition!

So what's everyone's thoughts on tonights match .I would be happy with a draw ,what with all the hype over JB and everything ,add to that the wicked wind thanks to tail end of Katia the ball will be goin all over the shot.Thoughts anyone .All gone a bit quiet on here lately like.Have had to resort to goin over to the scum page for a bit of p**s taking.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

As pardew said, qpr's new squad need time to gel, also majority of our squad is back to full fitness (ramadan also over).

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will win no problem we have more class all over the pitch, if we just had a god dam striker of worth! 2-0 come on the toon!!!

Agree0 Disagree2

Yous wer lucky not 2 get beat 7-1 !!! swp ran yous ragged !
