Perch would be closer to 3 mil. Can play anywhere in MF or across the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lescott will go back to everton
tom ince to liverpool
bent won't go to newcastle simply down to respect for his time at sunderland fulham or westham will get him as he wants to be back home in london

Slightly worried about the lack of movement in the transfer market, but there is plent of time for that to change.

I really hope that the reference to only buying 2 players was to do with purchasing and did not include players bought in on a free. we definitely need 2 strikers in my mind and a centre half and probably another attacking MF player / someone who can play on the wing.

Otherwise it will be a repeate of last year.

wats peoples thoughts on having darren bent at toon?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think he's a type of striker we're missing, one with flair and pace. You give him a chance, he'll score. I don't care if he was an ex mackem he was only there 2 or 3 years. He can beat the offside trap as well, however I think we should only be willing to pay MAX 6million, as he's 29, but he's english.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one would love to have him, he scores goals and would add some much needed experience.
Adam Campbell could learn a lot from him too.
Yeah he is over the 'age policy' but he is still only 29 and we don't seem to be able to afford any of the strikers who are within the 'age policy' anyway!
Don't think there is another striker out there as good for only £5-6m if that is what the price would be, obviously wages may be an issue.

Anyone else a bit pi**ed off with Ashley I see sunderland signing decent free players and we're still yet to make a move last derby obviously didn't go as planned and with our lack of movement in the market and saying only 2 players are coming it doesn't fill me with confidence snout next season. Bare in mind we finished 5 from bottom and sunderland the team below us are signing players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who is to say these players are signing are any good? But I do agree we need to pull our fingers out or we will be playing catch up again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think everyone is panicking, the team needs tinkering not rebuilding. Please tell me what is wrong with a team as follows:
Krull
Debuchy Taylor Collo Santon
Tiote Sissoko
HBA Cabaye Marveaux
Cisse
Rest of squad:
Gouffran
Haidara
Mbwia
Elliott
Obertan
Anita
Jonas
Campbell
Perch

Yes we need 2 strikers IMO as Best/Lovenkrands and then Ba were not replaced as well as a new CB to replace Willo and maybe a new creative midfielder/winger.
My choices would be Kevin Gameiro, Dries Mertens, Joleon Lescott, Victor Moses
Spire Toon

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland are not signing good players.

Yes they are bringing in a load of freebies but have you checked them out?

The latest one is a 20 year old from Ligue 2, he would not get in our reserve team. Abeid and Amafiltano would probably run rings arond him.

They are getting in rookies and injury prone players from the breakers yard.

Not one of their signings would be of any use in our squad.

Jealous - I am not.

Agree0 Disagree0

True I think if we don't pull our finger out soon we will be lucky to stay up!

Agree0 Disagree0

OP I am trying to find a polite way of saying your post was cretinous.

We still have plenty of time. Even if we get someone in in the next few weeks/the next month, those signings could be considered early signings.

And to say that it is all Ashley's fault. well.

I took a wee at St James's and had splashback.

ASHLEY YOU ARE TERRIBLE!

Agree0 Disagree0

They are signing players who ARE OUT OF CONTRACT. so why would they wait. It's when they buy players they will struggle and will be doing that in July, august. Our manager and peoples are getting back from their holiday within the next few weeks so that's when we'll start to become active plus the transfer window hasn't even opened yet. Just be patient, anyway we can do a lot better than diakite, roberge, cabral.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest they are getting pretty solid players
Only Ba is crap, they got him because he's young and they see potential in him, he was free and is on £500 a week
Isn't a risk, more of a punt, he will go in the U21 side

Agree0 Disagree0

The rookie as you say will play in the under 21's the bosmans are to make the squad bigger whic after last season we need, we haven't spent a penny yet, also its good to get them in now for a full pre season rather than the last week, we will also buy a few players.

So yes I think you are JEALOUS!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll tell you what's wrong with that team - the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the side that finished 5th bottom time is to worry when mike says only 2 signings coming in and the likes of cisse and cabaye unhappy could be leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

The transfer window hasn't even opened officially yet, but some people are saying we will struggle next season? I don't think we will sign anyone until the 1st July or later. even if we signed someone now I still don't think they would confirm it officially til the 1st July

I think signing bent is a bad idea for 6mil and nearly 30, should go for younger striker a lot of them out there, bony 12mil. ambamyeang 11mil. ,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anxhi want to pay 25m for PEA

Agree0 Disagree0

He only turned 29 in Feb, so not exactly nearly 30.

If we got him for around 4 million and 35 a week wages, then why not.

Guy was over 20 million a few seasons ago and he has not lost form, just favour with the new manager Lambert.

If Lambert had played Bent last season he would still be over the 10 mil bracket, playing for England and scoring goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes me laugh when people think 30 is ancient
Wish I was 30!

Cisse's only in it for more wonga

The mystery is over. Papiss Cisse wants bigger money to play at Newcastle United. And, boom, there it is. We knew there was more to his Wonga protest, we just didn’t know what.
It made no sense that Cisse cited Sharia law in objecting to Newcastle’s shirt sponsorship deal with a payday loan company, yet happily ran around endorsing Virgin Money last season. It is the financial services industry generally that offends Islamists, not poor rates. It now transpires Cisse is holding out for a better contract.
So this isn’t about Wonga, but it is about wonga, if that makes sense. And normal service is resumed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The paper says that because they have nothing else to say about Newcastle

Nani available for £8.5m, if he will accept rerasonable wages for regular football I think he would be a bargain.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He won't accept reasonable wages though, the reason Manchester United may have to sell is because he will not accept less than 100k per week.

Agree0 Disagree0

And wants champions league football

That 1st post was ridiculous

The striker is darren bent. ex mackem

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are acting like a Championship club
diverse of ideas and ambition
As it stands we will struggle next season BUT July 1st that can all change

Put your pants back on Pardew & get off the beach

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you mean devoid of ideas and ambition.

Also. terrible post, mate. Time will tell.
