last season we had some woman from olympic training who was going to make us the fittest squad

this season its someone from everton who is going to make up the fittest

what do we get constent ham -string injuries what's that all about

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There was this article about Jonas Gutierrez and a few other players who complained to pardew that the training sessions were not intense enough, therefore it took its toll on the pitch. This was when we were in europa league I think, is the same happening now?

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not think that the injuries we constantly get saddled with is down to our League 1 standard coaching methods dished out by our 3 amigos Carver/Stone/Woodman? The sooner this club is rid of them plus Pardew and Ashley the better. On the injury note, look at De Jongs injury history and also that Argie strikers. Maybe had our pants took down there.

Cheap players are like cheap racehorses - duds

Why would mike Ashley sell us when he's still making millions off us? This is what I don't understand, how are the club meant to repay the supposedly £130 odd million whatever that it owes to Ashley?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I guess he'd just have to sell the club for around £260mil

Agree0 Disagree0

JT: Exactly. Why should he sell at all if he's making a profit? Ed has comprehensively shot down the Rangers story, and he can't buy them unless the SFA caves in and gives him the go-ahead. But still the rumours keep getting recycled and art reckons that vida knows what he's talking about. So there. Sense and logic count for nothing, it seems but as vida keeps reminding us, we'll see in due course.

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem Victor you do not read anything properly. Never mind as long as you try and have nothing good to say about any comments that do not pass your acid test.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's talking more sense than you. Until Ashley sells Newcastle he is forbidden by the SFA to own more than 10% of the club currently operating as Rangers. As I've previously explained he has the best of both worlds, he owns the only part of the club currently operating as Rangers that can make money (retail) and he owns the naming rights to Ibrox, anything else would cost him a minimum £100 million to sort out the Glasgow club before he even thinks of any European income, which is buttons compared to the EPL money from TV. The stadium and training ground are in terrible condition and both need major investment, they have a manager who is better paid than Jurgen Klopp and will say and do anything to make sure he gets his wages and the same again as a bonus, there is NO scouting system in place and a skeleton coaching staff, and all that before even mentioning the playing squad who are better paid than any team in Scotland apart from Celtic, while playing in the Scottish 2nd division.
Taking over at Ibrox makes no financial sense for Ashley, if he wanted to just pump money into a club with no chance of any return he would do it at Newcastle, an EPL club is a better option than a team playing in the Scottish second division who have spent circa £70 million in the last 18/24 months and are in a critical financial situation, with no line of credit from any bank, outstanding loans to directors and fans, outstanding bonuses due to players, court cases involving bonuses due to ex-directors. There are also question marks over who owns the trademarks of the club (the badge etc) with suggestions that Charles Green does.
The deadline for an emergency share issue is 11 a.m tomorrow morning, if as some people expect that fails they will be lucky to make this months payroll, last week they had £1.2 million in the bank and £620k of that was ringfenced in court over a director suing them and questions over if they could pay it.
If the club operating as Rangers go into administration Mike Ashley/Sports Direct's contracts are still valid, even under the next regime, they have been set-up so that the only way out of them is liquidation.
Would you walk away from an EPL club with TV money to take over a toxic poisoned chalice in Glasgow?}

Ed I have never said Ashley wants to sell Newcastke United to buy Rangers

I only posted prior to recent medua rekeases that I understood Ashley was putting his house in order and wanted to sell Read it and see.

What people read into the situation of why is for them and is pure speculation.

Of course he would be mad to swap Newcastle for Rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Who mentioned Ashley was trying to sell to buy Rangers Not Me

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, on another note, has NUFc started paying back the debt owed to MA? surely if we made a profit and havn't spent the 70m of TV money everyone talks about then he'd be getting repayments?
The valuation of 230m seems low to me if the club can manage to operate and not touch the tv money. That would mean we are making 70m profit a year.

A valuation of 7x profit would see the club on the market for 490m.

I just can't make sense of the story

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm no expert on NUFC's finances but as far as I can see Ashley took back an £11m short-term loan in 2012 but the £18m short-term loan he was due back in 2013 wasn't taken and was 'rolled over' for future payment at an unspecified date alongside the £111m loan.}

Vida: fair's fair, you're absolutely right, you never linked the sale to the purchase of Rangers, and neither did I say you did. My beef with your rumour is that there's no credible source. My point about Ashley selling up is twofold: he's been trying to sell for years and has been balancing the books ever since he first tried, so there's nothing new or original in your post; and, why does he want to sell a profitable business? Other people (not you) have suggested he wants to buy Rangers. I don't think that's likely, neither does Ed obviously! And now you agree too. Good. That just leaves one point that you could help me with. How does having Pardew and players on long contracts help Ashley to find a buyer? Take Man U as an example.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashleys idea NO ONE KNOWS but to have a club free of debt to the bank excellent facilities good young players tied into long contracts AND a club higher than tenth in the Premiership makes it an good buy for any one.

The football The style of football and the fans do not matter to this person (moron only because of what he has done to my club) Only that he can show a plus balance sheet in stead of a negative situation.

Ashley works simply because he is a simple man taking advice from his advisers and mentor Mr Green.

From the man I met and have heard recently from in his circles they like me would not trust him as far as they can throw him and he is a heavy chap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vida: wrong. A new owner + new manager = new players and an exodus of 'failures'. Use your common sense, man. I said look at Man U : out goes Moyes (expensive) in comes VG - expensive - out go Welbeck, cleverley, etc in comes Di Maria - ridiculously expensive. If you knew anything about football you'd know that a new manager demands a silly transfer budget for starters. I rest my case.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vida: and, NUFC have been free of debt to the bank ever since Ashley first arrived. But once again, Einstein, you are right on one thing - nobody knows Ashley's mind. So why didn't you ask your 'reliable sources' how they knew what he was planning? Seems an obvious question to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumours about Ashley selling have brought the man that has shunned ANY public statement and has not been seen just like Dubceck to reappear to deny it.

TOON ARMY

Rangers fan here lot of news up here that MA is trying to get rid of newcastle so he can buy Glasgow Rangers he has naming rights on the stadium and also the retail rights to sell all strips through his sports direct shops. We are on the verge of going into admin AGAIN so if that happend ashley would lose the naiming rights to ibrox and he would also lose the retail contract. So its in his best intrest to keep us afloat. Scottish Football association rules state that MA can't own more than 10% of Rangers while he owns another european club he currently owns 9% of the gers hense why he is trying to push through the Newcastle sale so he can buy Rangers.
Can any of you shed any light on this?
And if this is the case what's mike ashley like?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A. Biggest low life Mercenary ever
B. Has no interest in football it's history or any club other than Tottenham
c. He will not sell Newcastle at the price he wants and if he does it will not happen for a long time.
C. That in it's self leaves Rangers up S. T creek BUT knowing Ashley he will not want to loose any money he has invested so who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley is a first class gentleman and everybody in Scotland should sign a petition to get him to sell Newcastle and buy Rangers. of course we will be very sad to see him go, but because we like our scottish cousins so much we would bare the pain of him leaving the Toon

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You don't get many gentlemen at Ibrox so that'll be a first.}

just been reading a article on newsnow regarding tiote makes good reading. seems like tiote is doing a cabaye to force a move ie: his injury hamstring which don't clear up over night he's played two games for his country ( carrying a hamstring injury or has he? ) may'be we will get some answers off pardew later today when he gives his interview. also pardew also said before the transfer window closed that if any player left the club they would replace any one who left I really think we need some answers on these questions. last thing about Ashley selling up never going to happen he ain't going to give the cash cow which is our beloved club. anyway ill leave for all the newvcastle fans on here to make their own minds up H. W. T. L

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is making an effort to sell. His skin is not as thick as some peoples heads. If Spurs are worth 1b Newcastle are worth 230m

Agree0 Disagree0

Typo error: should of said he ain't going to give up the cash cow

Agree0 Disagree0

Vida he owns (at the moment 9% of rangers ) he's not allowed to own two clubs but he wants to raise his stake in rangers. but rangers are close to going under as we all know. so rangers being the institution in scotland that they are. and they can make him more money so with them going under Ashley thinks he has the S. F. A by the short and curlies he comes along like the lone ranger and saves the day. I for one would love for some one to come along and buy wor club off him along with thousands of others H. W. T. L

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but spurs are in london property prices are higher pmsl

Agree0 Disagree0

Geordie nothing to do with it pms

It is the business and We if don't should do
Newcastle making top 3/4 and posdibly Champions league would be like a rocket taking off the revenue would be unbelievable and the same as Spurs or whoever except Man Utd

Hope whoever buys NUFC knows something about football
All these so called stars who are from Newcastle making mega bucks might be a good start as they all say the support the club
So get rid of this Moron

Agree0 Disagree0

Vida: every now and again you post something right. If Ashley invested in NUFC the amount he would have to spend to make Rangers successful, he could find himself in charge of a commercial superclub that would leave Spurs, Everton and maybe even Chelsea and Liverpool struggling to keep up. Balancing the books and creaming off a few quid here and there is all very well, but a bit of ambition and positive vibes could transform the club we all love. v

Agree0 Disagree0
