Hi Newcastle fans its international time again and I would like your thoughts on a scheme to encourage clubs to take a chance on more young English players?
Every side that starts 35 of the 38 games with 5 or more English players would receive a a 5 point bonus at the end of each season. This would not be compulsory and any side who felt it was worth forfeiting 5 points to play 7 or more over seas players would be free to do so.
What's your thoughts? Go easy on me it's just an idea :-)

Make the leauge boring, don't see the problem with over seas playin in the Bpl.

I don't want to make the league boring I just want to get more England players from it who can compete with top overseas players. No one can say all the players in the league from other countries are top quality and the same is true of the lower leagues in this country. Overseas players are cheaper than English which is part of the problem that needs addressing

Dont know about a bonus point scheme, but the fa should bring a ruling out that at least four or five first team players must be English

And that would drive the price of players up even more. Top 2 or 3 clubs would buy the best at all levels. The remainder would struggle with expensive poor players. Itd be like a 3 to 4 club premiership and a 35 club championship. maybe a draft system like in the NFL would work ir a salary cap which would increase by the number of seasons you play for a particular team. if you leave to go to another club in the same league whilst still under contract or for a fee you go back to season 1.
