Players like Bernard, Aubameyang, Bony, Fred (the one who's gone to shakhtar) Willian, Zaha etc are all players we should be competing for but because of Ashley's financial strictness, we can't. Even pardew knows, he said in an interview "maybe we aren't as financially strong as teams like Southampton" it's ridiculous, until Ashley is out and we get in an ambitious rich Arab, we won't be getting an excited about transfer windows, we won't be getting excited about any new projects because Ashley isn't ambitious enough. Someone like tony Fernandes would be excellent, he actually got involved in the remy transfer, that just shows how much he wanted to get players in.

Yes this is JToon being pessimistic!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Reallity has finally been realised.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley wants consistent mid table obscurity without making any significant investment. This club will NEVER EVER be a major force again until he slings his hook.
Can't for the life of me understand why any fan would defend his actions or strategy.
His only love is Sports Direct and there is no room in his plans for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reality hasn't been realised with sunderland fans though has it jeez?

Agree0 Disagree0

Says it all when you have all become pessimistic. No hope?
You are right about Sunderland. It is sureal at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is its surreal or is your deluded fans just making it that?

Agree0 Disagree0

We're talking about our owner here, not the signings or manager. Sunderland have made a shambles of their signings, average, too many, and an inexperienced manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley has made significant investment - he has loaned the club £100m interest free and told the board to run the club with a balanced budget in future. That means selling to buy. Reality is, don't expect big new signings without big money departures. If Pardew wants to keep Cabaye, he'll have to give up Ben Arfa. You can moan all you like, but that's how Ashley sees his business. What Norwich or Swansea do is irrelevant to his plan.

Agree0 Disagree0

What was that? We've made too many signings? Oh yeah sorry, one enough to keep you up these days! Wake up toon. You're not doing anything to help yourselves to be honest. Coming onto our site and trash talking about "getting hammered in Denmark" when we won 1-0. You lot need to understand that you aren't in a good position at all again this season. Always slating our signings and saying "we sign s*** players" but the thing is you've signed a championship player on loan. and now you're looking at Rhodes?! "Championship quality" players. So shut up with the "we are a bigger club" because you're not. We aren't either, but you are in far more danger than we are. Fact.

Looks like Alderweireld is going to leave Ajax as club has had another offer from an un-named team.

We should be in for him as is only 24. If we had him, Colo, Taylor and Mbiwa all trying for two CB positions we would be well set up for the next 2 to 3 years. Could even try playing 3 at the back with wing-backs as Ben Arfa is our only good wide man. Could work.

Krul
Taylor/Alderweireld Colo Mbiwa
Debuchy Santon
Sissoko Cabeye
Ben Arfa
Remy Cisse

That looks a strong team to me but would take along time to get the players used to playing that formation.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good thought but I don't think pardew has ever got one of his teams to play 3 at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats looks strong on paper but not in reality.

Cabaye is certain to leave and even if he doesn't I wasn't happy with him last season, he was a shadow of he's former self.

Sissoko was awesome to begin with. I hope he has settled into the Prem he's a worry.

Debuchy and santon I just don't rate going forward or defending.

Ben arfa world class ON he's DAY. Too injury prone and inconsistant, I would cash in on him, he's a luxury we can't afford.

Remy and cisse excite me could be unstoppable. Happy with those.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it may be either Liverpool or Spuds after Toby or both even.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another thing the squad has no strength in debt. First 11 is top ten possibly if their is no injuries and a bit of momentum. Need 4 or five more to guarantee top ten in my opinion. Need two wingers, another striker. Centre back would love two fullback too as I don't rate what's in the squad bar haidara.
Centre midfield is a problem if sissoko flops because tiote is championship standard.
Hate the coaches and management. Against bra ga just played hoofball AGAIN. Need to move with the times. Have players with technique but they are wasted. I'm still worried we could struggle next season. Can see the season ending in tears.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with most of what's being said.

Can't afford to get rid of Ben Arfa, our whole team is now based around him and if he can create anything.

I think Santon is good enough as is quite solid and doesn't make many mistakes. But Debuchy looks terrible. Can't defend or tackle and makes far too many mistakes. Although Enrique was a bit like that when we first got him and now he looks great.

If we play Ben Arfa in a free roll he can just go to where ever him can cause most damage. Is no point in playing wingers as don't have anyone but Ben Arfa.

Am most worried about midfield as most are very poor in possession and can't pass never mind create anything. Because of this we lose the ball too often and don't get it in dangerous positions. Cabeye can pass but is debatable that we can keep hold of him. Would love to see Verratti in CM but that ain't going to happen, he is worth more than Cabeye.

Really am dreading the start of the season at the moment. Wonder what odds you can get for Pardew being the first manager to get sacked?

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastles players are not as good as we thought. Simple as that. Forget the 5th place finish that's now long gone and to be honest it was a fluke kind of. We were not the 5th best team that season, obviously we finished 5th so you will say we were but a lot of things went our way mainly momentum, tactics that have been found out now and cisse signing in January and scoring for fun.

We are a team in terms of squad quality of finishing around 10th-17th in my opinion.

Our signins initially looked good but have proved to be a flash in the pan.

Were back to square one, we need signings.

Ed why were we wearing the half black and white strip yesterday aginst braga? {Ed001's Note - wasn't it a one off 4th kit? I guess it will be marketed as a Sir Bobby memorial kit, as it doesn't seem to be intended to be a Premier League kit. Not sure there would be an occasion it could be worn when the home kit couldn't be worn anyway! So just a money maker, like selling training kits and other t-shirts.}

one week till big ko and still no signings, this regimes a farce
pardew out
Kinnear out
Ashley out
cockney mafia out, anybody who says they are happy with this window signing one loan addition to the team who finished 5th bottom, well they must be mackems as well.
nufc are bottom of the league in term of signings/spending if were not careful we will be bottom of the real prem table before we know it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree 100% with everything you have said. I remember the last time we were looking to push on and Sir Bobby was only allowed to sign one player, Lee Bowyer on a free, and we slipped well away from the ambitious club owners. ALL these Ashley lovers need to give their heads a shake and look over their cornflake bowls, the man is a clown with a clown staff and if he doesn't sell up we will NEVER progress in the League/cups or indeed the Premier League. Ashley go now!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree although if we have reached 5th under pardew and ashley then we can do it again. The problem is that if we want to go even further we need more of an ambitious owner, i'd also happily take someone like Laudrup over Pardew in a heartbeat with a good owner but i'd be happy to stick with pardew if we got in a new owner, but I think we'll be waiting a long time for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can scream and shout Ashley out as much as you want, it doesn't bother him. Its his club, he bought it therefore he can and does what he wants. The only thing he is bothered about is money, that's it! The ONLY way to get him out is to STOP buying things in the stadium or in his shops, which won't happen so until someone buys the club off him we are stuck with him

Jimmy1976

Agree0 Disagree0

The sad thing is the squad as a whole is very good. Its just that Pardew doesn't know how to get the best with what he has got. It's not the lack of signings that worries me the most its Pardews tactics or lack off them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to shake your hand mate every word is true GET THE COCKNEYS OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

IF you want Ashley out or to change. Stop going to games. Home and away that is the only thing that would bother him. Holding up banners whilst wearing a toon top won't do nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

AS much as I dislike Ashley running of the club. If I had to choose between Ashley and Pardew I would choose to get rid of Pardew.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but if Ashley went, a new owner wouldn't put up with pardews incompetence, or the scruffy scarecrow

Hi guys, Spurs fan in peace.
I was watching the highlights from your match with Braga on tv. I noticed you were wearing a black and white half kit. I saw your new black and white striped kit with the blue lines and presumed this was your kit for the new season?
Is this a 3rd kit or centenary or something?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well I originally thought that there was going to be a yellow or bright green kit as our third (i'm colour blind) perhaps not

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a one off strip for bobby robson

I honestly do not know what's going to happen this season. We've had an alright pre season, it seems pardew wants us to play with the 4231 with most of the season. We've won 3, drawn 2 and lost 1, so it can't be that bad? As I said, we've been so up and down in the past few years, we could have a fantastic season this year, maybe finishing 9th, 8th or 7th. or we could have another terrible one and finished 15th or 16th, WE do not know what's going to happen so we shouldn't pre judge and say like "oh one signing isn't going to help, we're going to have a terrible season" We need to back the team, the manager and see what happens, and let's say if we're not in the top 10 by december, then pardew obviously isn't the right man to take us forward, yes I would take someone like Michael Laudrup in a heartbeat, but we've got pardew so we need to get behind him. A team or manager cannot suddenly become "average" or "rubbish" after one season, yes pardew hasn't got the best CV but he got us to 5th in the best league in the world for christ sake, no luck involved. We have a fantastic squad of players, and with their abilities we should be aiming for europa league, yes it is difficult with the shoestring budget that ashley gives us, but its do-able if we have done it once under ashley and pardew. let's give them one more season.

Pardew after game yesterday no transfers this week and thinks one or two of are players might go if other teams get the players they want so we start the season worse than last year still playing the same as last year and we signed no 1 because remy is a loan & he is injured the way they try and make us think were the poorest club in the league spent nothing again even thoe all clubs will get huge money from tv

Ok so we got Remy through the door. Good signing. But is anyone else excited about the new season. I'm not. I'm worried. Nothing special in pre season. I know its for fitness but the lack of goals is concerning. Need sone creative players in big time, or else it's just going to be hoofball again all season.

Sadly but for certain this team as it stands will be fighting from day one for Premiership survival. Everyone who could do something to ensure at least there is half a chance seems to be on the fence to see if by some miracle we pick up in the pre-season friendlies (to save Ashley spending). Well we have not and it will only get worse.

Devoid of good passing and abysmal defending will ensure we are not just beaten but hammered starting next week at Man City.

Poor team, Terrible management and a Shocking owner and I think the whole country is expecting what most fans are resigned to. a Relegation fight even before a ball is kicked. Disgraceful Ashley hang you head in shame and apologize to the faithful fans who's dreams you have shattered.

Did everybody see the new Newcastle strip they played in on Saturday it's all black on half the strip and white on the other half. It looked ok but why have a black and white away strip when are home is black and white. A1 chef

Okay everyone, I was just as excited as everyone else about this Eto'o thing but I regret to say there is no chance of this happening

He is on 350k a week and will not be prepared to drop his wages, the best we could offer him is 50k
Lovely to hear such good news for the club but this is just not happening, we would have had more chance of getting Rooney

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you are the only person who got excited about this. He wasn't just offered to us and more to the point his wages. A total non starter if ever they was one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where can you buy the limited edition shirt worn last night against Braga? I think thry are cool and would make an excellent third strip.
