Newcastle United

58 years and still polishing glass

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Newcastle will never win a trophy EVER.

They bottle it every time

Always the bridesmaid never the bride.

Agree1 Disagree6

So! Still adore my club. You will never have what we have. Only newcastle fans know what that feels like.

Agree5 Disagree1

They won't win a trophy they are jinxed.

Also they want it too much, where ass teams like Swansea go with the flow no pressure or expectation and win a cup, wigan and millwall in a semi final.

Agree0 Disagree2

How did we bottle it they gave it all they had we did well against a very good benfica side

Agree2 Disagree0

BOTTLE IT!! Do you understand football at all? Or did you even watch the match, the lads went for it, they gave it their all!

AP got his tactics right and made the right subs, BUT ITS HARD TO BEAT AN UNBEATEN TEAM THIS YEAR!

REMEMBER BENFICA ARE 36 GAMES UNBEATEN
LAST GAMES THEY LOST WAS AGAINST BARCA AND CELTIC!
THIS BENFICA TEAM BEAT MAN U (you know play in the PL, soon to be champions)

Don't say they bottled it, because they didn't. they didn't run away from the match and they didn't let Benfica play there football and just sit back.
We played our football, stuck to our plan and the lads giave it their all, what else could you ask for. we just didn't have enough, we didn't have the class that Benfica had

Now we all need to look ahead to sunday
BRING ON WONDERLAND!

Agree3 Disagree0

Your post is a joke!
Newcastle didn't touch the flaming ball for the first 43 minutes. It was men v boys. The least they could have done is got in Benfica's faces a bit. Never heard such a subdued crowd when the half time whistle went - they all knew even if you were watching a different game.
As for the second half, I know, let's play like Stoke. Alan Pardew, tactical genius!

Agree1 Disagree2

Watch out for the jealous Sunderland fans.

It must be difficult for them to be sat at home watching us in Europe and find us more entertaining and passionate than their dire team.

Unlucky lads, crap first half (playing hoofball weren't getting in there faces) but second half, my word. In my opinion, sunderland have a big reason to be scared for the derby now. In that second half during spells, we basically scored 2 goals from cisse (But surprise surprise he was offside) BUT in parts of the game we pinned benfica back, put them under pressure. We pinned back one of the best teams in the world, and that's something to be proud of. Most teams would just crumble at that point, but we showed fighting spirit, and maybe deserved a little more than we did, referee was terrible. Probs be even worse in the derby with howard webb in charge.
But there are lots of positives to take out of that game, and if we can pin benfica back like we did, then there's no reason why we can't put 2 or 3 past 5under1and. I'm very confident for the derby, but the will be underdogs and will play a counter attacking game with 10 men behind the ball (as per usual).
Hopefully taylor, debuchy, santon, tiote will all be back for the game.
Team for sunday:
Krul
Debuchy/Simpson
Taylor/perch
M'Biwa
Santon/Haidara
Ben Arfa
Cabaye
Sissoko
Marveaux
Cisse
The Mackem slayer
But sadly we still have another long wait for a trophy : (

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Only bad thing in an otherwise good display Cabaye Free kicks and general play less than average

Agree7 Disagree0

Great performance in the last 20mins to be proud of, hate it how the mackems are coming on to our site and disliking every post.

Agree5 Disagree2

So do you class those last twenty minutes as great? Lol if so roll on Sunday if that's the best you can muster.

Agree2 Disagree3

Only downside we have to play Sunderland on Sunday but got to be done lads
Let's smack their are. se and send them down

No shame going out to the best team in the competition and one if the best in Europe at the minute. That last 20 minutes was brilliant and we could've had another. Just think. If those Cisse shots that hit the lost went in. We would be in the semi finals. Outstanding European effort and in sure it won't be too long before we're back there

Marveaux was man of the match for me, even though he was only on the pitch about 15 minutes or so.

He just seems to get better and better.

Marveaux & Ben Arfa are sublime.

We are going to assault the Premier League next season, playing like we did when we got the troops on in the Benfica game.

More of that please, much much more!

Believable3 Unbelievable5

What a player Ben Arfa is. I would buy a season ticket just to see that man! Could be my fave player ever EVER! I just love him! What a difference he makes. brilliant!

Agree2 Disagree1

You have the players, fans, infrastructure you just need the manager to take you that step further.

Mackem fanatic.

Agree6 Disagree2

Though bigi was good, made some good passes and looked dangerous on the inside right. Creative players need to show themselves for the rest of the season

CISSE is a good striker but needs to work on getting caught off side. Well done lads u still played well Bobby.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Good strikers get a web site a lot, it is all part of breaking the offside trap.

Were you aware that the most offside player in the league is Suarez? and look at the season he has had.

Yet again Cisse scored, and was fighting tooth and nail for Newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree4

Cisse makes good runs but the ball isn't played through quick enough, hence the amount of times he's offside

Agree0 Disagree1

Cisse would have a field day with a Beardsley like player to feed off.

Agree0 Disagree1

Every striker in the country would have a field day with someone like Beardsley in the team

Apparently Sunderland are going to war and pdc has asked the fa if the team can wear war paint for the derby by he's pre match interview.

He has also been talking about how the rivalry exists since 1642 and the civil war and saying newcastle won't know what has hit them.

Tough derby to call this season they are up for it.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

All hot air. If they want to go to war, let them. We'll stick to playing football and batter them out of sight.

wow, benfica must be laughing at our team selection,
williamson in defence (would rather have perch), no marveaux, bigirimana in the middle!

Can't believe this is the team he has picked!

Bye Bye Europe!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Half time in a must win game (by two goals). zero shots haha. rubbish!

Agree2 Disagree1

Oh are you emmigrating? Where you going Asia? South America? North America? Africa? Australasia? Just you said bye bye Europe because even if benfica win, newcastle are still in Europe.

Agree1 Disagree2

Bye bye Europa lol out classed by benfica.

got to give it our all tonight! even risk taylor and others if slight doubt, cab and mar were knackered end of last match,, hope doesn't rest them but tell em to give their full effort for the club and fans,

Does anyone actually think Taylor is injured?! Pardew said he'll be fit for Sunday. Makes a dodgey error In the last game and then arguably the biggest game of the season for us on Sunday, just resting him (cover up). Sunday Taylor will have the game of his life

Believable0 Unbelievable3

11 Apr 2013 16:12:32
important two games. could be still in Europe and safe by Sunday, or out of Europe and in deep relegation trouble by Sunday.

This weekend make or breaks our future and building of the club.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Our future won't be broken no matter what we do this week

Agree3 Disagree2

So if newcastle get relegated (which they won't but if they did).
It wouldn't break our future?.
So we wouldn't have to sell most of the squad we are building, lose out on the new TV money.

These two games are make or break.

Agree2 Disagree2

One down, one to go lol.

So looking forward for the match against benfica until I heard s Taylor is out, now if perch plays cb I think we do all right but god forbid if Williamson is playing I don't think I could watch. Why is he still in the squad has ap forgot how many points we lost because of his dreadful defending. Benfica's players will run rings around the lanky streak of

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Williamson wasnt the only reason you dropped points your team in general are poor, your fans just think you's are better.

Agree1 Disagree5

Why come if you don't support the toon, r u that pathetic. probs just a sunderland fan scared that you will be going down after we destroy you guys. you lot r in a crisis wigan, villa r playin great

If we can't beat safc at home, the worst team in league with half team injured or suspended and a new manager, I can't see us winning another game, we are out europa league, so the safc match is our best chance of points.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Were not out of the europa yet keep the faith

Agree3 Disagree2

Nothing is over until its over. Keep the faith, there is still everything for our lads to battle for tonight,

HBA set for a return, Cisse I've never heard him so confident all season. Going to be a miss not having STaylor at the back

I know it will be hard for the lads tonight, but you need to keep the faith that they will get the result, "we all want!"

Agree4 Disagree1

We just hammered Fulham all over the park.

Take your doom and gloom merchant routine back to the Sunderland page.

Agree3 Disagree3

Fulham are a decent side but poor away side.

Agree1 Disagree2

Ask Spurs how poor Fulham are away

Agree1 Disagree1

Look at fulhams record away since the got to the Prem, its awful.
