Anther poor performance same tactics as last season. Ben Arfa only bright spark. Pardew hasn't learnt nothing from last season. Hopefully the Jonas injury is long term. ( not life threaten before I get shot down) Saying that Pardew would play him using crutches.

Yep, agree. Still look just as bad as where we finished last season.
Our passing is shocking! Ben Arfa is our only chance if creating anything. But he's going to have to beat at least two people then put in a peach of a cross or bullet shot. Rest of he midfield just does nothing.
Would not be suprised if we never have more possession than the opposition in a game all season.
Tiote and Jonas do nothing but work hard but surely that should be expected of every player, so what do they bring to the team? Can't pass, can't score, can't tackle, give away free kicks.
Again Debuchy is terrible and gives away the penalty. We were much better with Mbiwa at rightback after Debuchy went off.
Sissoko has been compared to yaya toure but is know where near that good, again he gives nothing special to the team. Is not a defensive ball winner, is not creative and is not a goal scorer.
Am now really concerned for this season coming. Need a left-winger desperately and a creative good passing midfielder.
Or if the problems not the players, it's the tactics. Have defo learnt nothing from last season. Are going to have to hope that Remy turns out to be a world beater.

Ben Arfa was 3rd worst on the pitch behind guti and shola! Dummett was the bright spark!
Agree0
Disagree0
Ben arfa had a good game. Dummett was really good
Agree0
Disagree0
Dummett was good and the find of the pre-season. We have a good squad with good technical ability just a shame we have a manager despite what he spouts has learnt nothing from last season. To be brutally honest I don't think he knows how to change it.

Pre season! I remember rob lees testimonial. after that I thought crap relegation is deffers. Only for bobby robson to push us close to title and f8nish 3rd. ok 3rd to 6th is beyond us but a good home draw and wembley and competative push for 8th could be on

Pards is no Sir Bobby though and that is the problem.

Not a bad performance tonight. Not the best like but our play was better, more passing, more energy and not too many long balls. Cabaye looks a different player from last season, he's put abit muscle on and doesn't look drained. Hopefully a couple of signings during the week (doubt it) and maybe get rid of a few who won't cut it or don't anymore.

I really only think we need maximum 2 players now, a left winger preferably ince or sinclair and maybe a striker or utility defender
Agree0
Disagree0
This sounds totally against all the reports I've been reading about the game.
General consensus wants Pardew never to darken the SJP doorstep again.
Agree0
Disagree0
Latest in press is that cabaye has been once again linked with a move to Manchester United, what about a straight swap for Rooney? Rooney would have to take pay cut but may be an exiting signing if it came off.

4th post
Lets not go down this road again
Rooney, Rooney, you really think we could stand a chance of getting him
He wants CL
Won't drop wages
Cabaye only wanted for around 20m
Rooney wanted for 40m
Wants Chelsea move and has already told teammates he will definitely join them
Agree0

Rooney? where do you get these deluded mag fans from? outer space

Rooney is after more money, not less.

If you could pick any manager who has managed a club in the last few seasons,
Who would you pick?

Seems by the way the toon are playing v braga we will be going 4 the physical approach next season.
Believable0

That is the stoke approach, so not only you lot playing hoof ball last season now you will be playing the red card approach as stoke, your going down! {Ed001's Note - while I personally hate the Stoke approach, saying it would lead to any team going down is a bit strange when Stoke used it and didn't get relegated.}

Its evident that Ashley hopes to sell Cabaye for big bucks so it can fund a couple of smaller signings. As for Gomis, forget him, he doesn't want to be here or he could easily force his move through no matter what agents say. WHY a footballer needs an agent beats me, he takes a slice of what the player can earn as well as a slice of the transfer fee. Shows how uneducated a lot of players are when they cannot agree on a wages packet themselves. Today I am breaking a tradition, after 48 yrs of support through the turnstiles, I am missing todays game because I do not want to put even more money into Ashleys pocket, money that stays in there. Away games I will attend, home games not until this clueless man sells up and takes his bunch of clueless friends away with him.

Agree0

48 years and you still know very little of how football works. A player has an agent because an agent can keep in contact with every club and find the best deal for his client. You can't expect a player to keep every club's DoF in his 'contacts' list, and he'd be in breach of his contract if he touted himself around while still under contract to his club. Player and agent therefore both benefit. Clear now?
Agree0
Disagree0
Its a breach if his agent touts him around whilst under contract also. So that point is irrelevant weather he had an agent or not. Agents are killing the game. Even old red nose himself said it.
Agree0
Disagree0
The mackems are out again. It was we were signing nobody and now we are signing nobody else. Are sure about that this time? Stick your crystal ball away, you know nothing about your own teams affairs never mind ours.
Agree0
Disagree0
You clearly have no clue the role of agents play. and to some degree they are needed. As for you not going to matches give me your ticket, I love this club and that's the bottom line, andalways will no matter who they are owned by, we have policies and we stick by them.
Agree0

I think the 4th and 7th post are either in their Teens and Johnny come latelys or haven't read the post correctly. S-P-E-C-S-A-V-E-R-S have got some good deals on at the moment. And Agents? Your replies are class ha ha ha ha
Agree0
Disagree0
No it's not a breach if his agent does it. They do it all the time.
Agree0
Disagree0
'Faircomment': you're missing the point, my child. A player can't just dismiss his agent, if he's under contract. And I'm nearly 70, with perfect eyesight. You do know what a contract is?
Agree0
Disagree0
Some players are intelligent. Some are savvy. Some are thick as a brick, like 'Faircomment'. But virtually all have an agent. Why? Because they get a better deal by using an agent. Simples.

I'm not sure about this Gomis deal, it's a 9 m deal that we could just get Brown Ideye for who's 4 years younger, I know Ideye may not be as good as Gomis but he can certainly improve whereas Gomis is at the peak of his career

I'm still worried in the back of my head, that if loic remy escapes his court case then QPR won't let us take him permanently in january and will just take him at the end of the season if they get promoted and improve his contract so we can't get him or spurs or arsenal will just snatch him from us

So pardew has put a £30M price tag on Kebab looks like he'll be staying then no one is going to pay that crazy amount of money.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
The thing is with football, when a big or bigger club comes in for a player they end up wanting to go just because of money
These players want to go because of bigger clubs coming in so more money offered to them
•Suarez and Liverpool, put a ridiculous price tag on him, he wants to play CL footy, now he hates everything about Liverpool
•Bale and Spurs, wants to play for R. Madrid who can double wages, angry with Levy and AVB for trying to ruin his dream
•Rooney and Man U, wants to go to Chelsea to get 1st team, Man U won't sell now he is angry with Moyes
Same thing will happen with Cabaye, Spurs, Man U, PSG or Monaco will come knocking on the door preparing to double his wages and return to France or give him CL and will want to move, I respect the owners and managers tryin to keep hold of their best players but something's don't go your way

ED, Why was my Lacazette post not published? {Ed007's Note - If you had left a tag or registered I could probably tell you. Lots of anonymous posts just get deleted.}
Believable0
Unbelievable0
It would be good to allow more through
Let them be posted and it will, in all fairness, improve a good site {Ed007's Note - No it wouldn't. All the stupid anonymous posts are wasting the sites. Half the time on here we don't know if it's a Newcastle fan giving their opinion or a Sunderland fan trolling. We encourage people to tag their post or even better register, you will find that vastly improves the quality and the interaction on the site. If you don't register or tag your post you really can't complain if your post isn't posted.}
Agree0
Disagree0
What doumean tag? also how dou register? {Ed007's Note - I mean just think up a name or sign-off and put it at the bottom of your post or if you register (there is a link at the top of the page to register, in blue writing) then your tag/nickname will automatically be on your post. It really helps the sites run smoother. Have a look at the Man Utd or Liverpool sites where we have been implementing it recently and the way posters interact with each other.}

We were interested in him a while back but why aren't we in for Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon
He is skillfull, young and can score from the wing and through the centre.
What are your thoughts?

No chance Lyon would sell him. Lisandro has been sold already and they want rid of Gomis. Haven't seen them sign anyone yet either.
