It seems our reputation as a selling club has gone against us as ashley was probably rubbing his hands at the money he would get through selling some of our assets, which is prob why we aint signed anyone. Bidding 17 for caroll was only a ploy to try and tempt someone else to buy him and we would get some cash off the sell on clause. It sounds bad but the only way we will get a few over the line is to sell coz there certainly is no funds available, not much anyway!

Well it is obvious you dont know what goes on at NUFC with over 220m in the coffers since & including AC money with TV Gates Sponserhip etc and we can't pay 8m yiu are having a larf

Everything Ashley does is for the benefit of Ashley,we were lucky last season with the players he brought in jelled the way they did.I for one do not trust him one little bit.It just goes to show how little it takes to satisfy fans..PS I am a season ticket holder and Ashley is a cheap skate.

I agree with the comment about not trusting ashley... i'll think about trusting him when he's kept our players and improves our team each season. i'll give him 3 more years of this good work before he'll have my trust. {Ed055's Note - Ashley has already taken us from strength to strength - we are a cash rich club who now has the lure of european football

Which we will not have next season if we do not improve the squad as all our competitors have. Face it if we do not qualify fo CL Tiote, Cabaye Cisse, Ben Arfa and mayb even Collo will be off next summer and with this squad we will not. Perhaps this is his plan so he can rake in best part of a 100 million or more?

All i was trying to say in first post is that we clearly dont have that much money or we wouldnt be losing out on players by a million or so. Debuchy price lille set was fair imo we are under bidding for these players. Pards said all season we would prob lose one big player, and that was obviously to fund a lot of new signings. How do u stop a selling club getting stronger? Dont buy their players! Seems like we have been found out.

What good is it being cash rich if you are not willing to bid fare for a player,Ithink that Ashley undermines the club with his underhanded dealings I feel cheated when you see other clubs bringing in players without all the hassel that Newcastle fans have to endure.As for him investing in our club he must have recouped all his investment by now,we could fill a70,000 stadium easily.

Caroll is the only player we have sold in the last few years for profit and that is because the fee offered was silly, Man City could not get money like that for Tevez and he is one of the best in the world.
Look at all the other sales and those players were moved on for reasons nothing to do with money or profiteering.

Well Ed this cash rich club will not win anything under Ashley as he is happy to rake in 20m a season for himself just look at the money that has come into NUFC since and inc AC sale 120m last season and this probably 100m with an out lay of 25m so far for players and 80m wages and 30m costs over 2 years So WHERE is the rest??
Fans will give him they're support but tome will tell as they do not want a middle table club even if they are cash rich it is nonsense football is about winning trophies

I really dont think we will sign anyone at all, the players weve been interested in apparently are the same at start of season and theres no real progress, as good as it is to see Bigi, amalfitino and good look well, i think becoz theyve done so good we will now hold back on any major signings as weve got a good 1st team and the young guns are starting to step up..............Just my views....................B
