so much about andy carroll in papers. but do we want him back yes or no. I for one can't make up my mind

As a forward yer we need them
But I see Carroll a step back from what we could get. And we would never pay 17million that LOLpool want for him.
IF they lower the price of him to around 7-10million with AP in charge I can see us getting him. AP is a very VERY big fan of Carrolls

We are 2nd in the league for playing the most amount of crosses.
That to me suggests that Carroll could be useful.

Carroll was immense b4, and I think he'd be better a second time around! I for one would be well up for having him back!

Agree I would rather have Carrol on our books than him being on someone elses

No STaylor for Thursday what kind of defence are we going to have to face Benfica (not going our way at the moment)
Believable0
Unbelievable4
Try not to think about it. I have all day and the best I can think of is Perch :-/ (ssssshhhhhhiiiiirrrrrrrttttt)
Agree0

Benfica do not play high balls so Perch is probably better suited as a centre back for this game.
Agree0
Disagree0
We have to attack Benfica and score two, so Benfica could catch us out with counter attacks having Perch in there might not be such a bad thing.
Agree2
Disagree0
Basically your running scared of a team that is bottom of form league, If you can't beat them who will you win, you can't blame fatigue as you only defend
Agree0
Disagree1
Benfica bottom of the form league?
Are you sure?

Get in! HBA fit for tommorow, but will start as a sub. he will be available for first 11 against the mackems :)
Team for tomoz:
Krul
Simpson Taylor Mbiwa Perch
Anita Cabaye
Jonas Sissoko Marveaux
Cisse
team for mackems:
Krul
Debuchy or Simpson
Taylor
Mbiwa
Santon or Anita
Cabaye
Sissoko
Ben Arfa
Marveaux
Gouffran
Cisse
Put tiote on the bench, marveaux had a good game against fulham so sit sissoko back a bit, because he is a tank, so he'll close down sessegnon (because sessegnon is a ball hogger) It will be a bit risky to play tiote so that's why i've gone sissoko. Hopefully with benny back fit in front of the home fans it will give us a lift and a presence. Gardner will miss the derby, and that's a big loss for them, trust me, i've watched sunderland on MOTD a lot, and he's a key key player. And hopefully cisse will give killgallon a very tough time, kilgallon reminds me of williamson only not as good. Gouffran and benny I hope will rotate wings a lot as bardsley isn't that quick. the only player i'm concerned about is mignolet! he's been in good form, but hopefully we can put 2 or 3 past him.
But I honestly think if HBA starts it will put us at an advantage against the scum, so i'm quite pumped. Don't want to risk benny for thursday so that he will be very sharp for sunday.

He's not fully fit, AP has said the most he will get is a little role in the match
I honestly think he will start and get 50mins, if he can even keep his fitness for that long. He couldn't have had much time to train or his fitness since he's been out on the sidelines

Andy Carroll has told Liverpool to pay up the contract difference on any pay cut to leave, or he will stay and see out his contract.
About £4.5m.
Can you blame the lad?
Believable2
Unbelievable0
4.5 million. Isn't Carroll on 80,000 (a week)
So by your math has he only got one year left to run on his current deal with Liverpool?
Or am I missing something?
Agree2
Disagree0
You are missing something. If he moves and gets, say, 40k a week he wants liverpool to make it up to 80000 (ie 40000 a week on top) or else he stays and picks up his 80k til the end of his contract. unless I've missed something else
Agree2
Disagree0
That will teach Liverpool for constantly poaching our players.
Agent Carroll has better skills than a Soviet Espionage Agent, lolll.
Agree1
Disagree0
I see, this for a loan deal I take it? I could see us going for him if Liverpool match half his wage for us.
But I can't see Liverpool matching half of his wage, I think the way they see it (with Rogers there) is to cut their losses and sell him. But the last I heard they still want 17million for him :-O
Agree0
Disagree1
If we did buy him, which I hope we dont, i'd put him on 50k a week, and put a clause in his contract saying if he scores so many goals he gets a bonus and a pay rise to make him a top earner. See how much he really wants to come home. he's a bit of an unknown quantity at the moment so its a bit of a risk
Agree1
Disagree0
Carroll has made it very clear he wants to come 'home' but I agree I don't want him.
There is bigger and better players in the world than bringing ANdy back, and LOLpool will want some fee for him with what they paid for him. and don't forget that LOLpool paid 35million cash on the day for him

Everton once had a off season like ours with David moyes and look how good they are now, we will be back in the top 7/6 next year

Difference being we aren't having an off season, we had a really good season last season, now it's back to normal

^^ mackem alert
we are having an off season because we didn't spend money, as a result lots of injuries, no plan B with youths in team

I'm not a mackem! I'm
Just honest. Before that when was the last time we had been competing for a place un Europe?

6 years ago. When did Wonderland last compete for a place in Europe?

What are you on about? You can't go fron finishing 5th to improving your squad to being top 8 quality and being a mid table team! It doesn't make sense! Take out bale and lloris, our squad is virtually just as good. Most of our first 11 players are worth about 10-25m. we are only doing so bad this season, because of a forest fire of an injury list and lack of spending, but now we've learnt our lessons, and will hopefully challenge top 6 again next season.
A mid table team cannot get to the quarter finals of europa league, finish 5th the season before, and attract top players like Mbiwa, debuchy, cabaye, cisse etc. And there is no fluke in finishing 5th. And we have a better squad now than we did last year, so stop being so negative.
