G’day Ed,

I was just reading about this possible Newcastle takeover or investment and would like to know your thoughts if any on it? Have you come across any information regarding potential investors.

If reported and it is some China-man it could go one or two ways (really well or really terrible) but to see the back of Ashley they may have to take the chance on any willing consortium.

For me it has been a long time coming that this club get the top investment it really deserves. This club are a huge sleeping giant and with the right direction can really challenge at the top in my view.

{Ed002's Note - I can't really help. Clubs have got a bounce in value this year due to the start of the new TV deal. Perhaps you don't understand about the limitations on investment and to be fair Mr Ashley has hand in his pocket a lot.}

Ed002 we both know whatever Ashley has put into this club he will get back and then some. There is always ways around these "limitations" Chelsea and especially Man City can attest to that.

You did say a few years back that in 2017 some big clubs may change hands. I always thought you may be have been talking about the Glazers but maybe big clubs like Newcastle can be just as an exciting project for some individuals.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure about the Chelsea or Manchester City references. Since FFP came in Manchester City have been sanctioned and Chelsea has stock=pile money from sales. 2017 was always going to be a big chance of a sale year - the Galzers would sell but the value is so high it would need a floatation and the exchange rate is against them.}

Jesus Ed if the Glazers went ahead with a floatation in the current climate it would be one hell of a risk. Do you think these guys like the Glazers and Ashley have just had enough with Soccer clubs or are they just happy to make a healthy profit before the bubble bursts?

{Ed002's Note - It would need to be managed for the Glazers to sell and discussions held with institutional investors.}
