With Gini bound to go to Liverpool the player in exchange has brought up much interest. One player who has been earmarked by Rafa is Flanagan, he is unlikely to feature for Liverpool. The move would be a loan but a view to permanent if promotion is secured. Burnley are also looking a Flanagan. This would then leave Janmaat ready to join a premier league team.
Rico Henry has been linked at lb, he can also be fielded higher up the pitch and made it into league 1 team of the year in his maiden season.
Sissoko and Gini replacement are being lined up, solly march has been a target for a while but has only just come back from a long injury. The same for will Hughes.
Personally I would find it quite amusing if Rafa could turn up the magic and try get odegaard on loan from Madrid. Unproven but all the raving must be justified to some extent. He is also very clearly unwanted by Zidane.

Would laugh so much if Real Madrid bought Sissoko, especially if its £25+million. Sell him as soon as possible doesn't want to be here could be poison to the dressing room. We have good morale at the moment don't want him coming back and ruining it.

2.) 01 Aug 2016 14:59:51
He is just back today, won't take long to find out.
Yes he needs booting and as quick as possible.

I can see newcastle doing the normal last day panic for a striker, one shout that is becoming louder recently is Jordan Rhodes. I can see it being a bryan ruiz esque attempt, Boro are heavily interested. I can see a deadline day bid for Boro accepted then Mike Ashley stepping in with his helicopter to redirect him to St. James.
Would be entertaining to say the least but I can't see us signing anymore players.

Townsend deal has been delayed due to a couple of reasons, for one we are unwilling to improve tottenham's finances as they will likely use the money on Berahino whom is also a target.
We are more likely to get Berahino the longer he has to wait for a transfer move. We are also more likely to get a reduced price on Townsend the longer we leave Levy to sweat.
I can imagine both deals won't be completed until the end of next week.

The backup if we cannot get Townsend for 10 million is Andre Carrillo, we have previously scouted him alot. His contract runs out at the end of the year and so Lisbon are keen to cash in while they can, a host of other clubs are also interested such as Stoke, Bournemouth and Leicester.
We will not be forced into paying a massive amount for Berahino, I believe we are offering 15 Million + add ons so the fee could rise to around 21 million. Sandro Ramirez is believed to be an option should this fall through.

With deadline day fast approaching, Mourinho could turn his attention to Sissoko after a move for Pogba has been dragging on. Chelsea are selling Jobi to Besiktas and want a powerhouse to provide competition in the squad.
Kemen set for Monaco, not sure how good he is but the fact gouffran started ahead of him CM the other night can't be too good.
So with Sissoko leaving Newcastle could invest that in a good LB, Guerreiro of Loreint for 8.5 Million.
Also with Tiote looking rusty our interest in Nampalys Mendy could be reignited.

1.) 27 Aug 2015 20:13:46
Danno He could do all that BUT Ashley wants the money back on the club for him
Expenditure 50M 34M already in the club and the Pardew money etc and 50m already from TV from the 110M and we mess about when a defender is needed desperately.

Sissoko and Cisse could go 20m back in the club Still time to act but it is running out, perhaps there is a surprise or Ashley just being Ashley MONEY is his only goal

2.) 27 Aug 2015 20:21:07
Ive Had a few beers and feeling optimistic. Sissoko going knowhere. Tioti can go as far as I'm concerned to many fouls and miss passed side passing for my liking. chelsea need a power house to win them the league sissoko not that man.

3.) 27 Aug 2015 21:54:52
agree baldie, sissoko is not the man for chelsea

4.) 28 Aug 2015 12:47:57
Keman under 21 captain and we are selling him MAD men at work

5.) 29 Aug 2015 09:27:01
Abdennour off to Chelsea, disgrace no one can see we NEED a quality defender, we will plod on until January and run for cover and try and sign a defender then,Disgraceful

6.) 30 Aug 2015 07:19:15
Signed for Velencia another one bites the dust

06 Aug 2015 13:31:18
One more signing expected, it will be a left sided cb. Abeid will make way for around 1.5 million and Williamson for around the same fee.
Toney has joined today, he will be played in development squad but could be loaned out.
Martins indi (crazy eyes) is valued at around 10 million by Porto or Terrance Kongolo is another name previously linked. He is a younger option and not quite as established. Schteeve does love a Dutchman. Don't expect any more moves for attacking targets, and also wait for de Jong and cabella are like new signings.

{Ed007's Note - There has been some murmurings about Newcastle's interest in Celtic's Dutch CB Virgil van Dijk. Everton are also said to be interested and Southampton are long term admirers of the player who Celtic hope to persuade to stay until January if they qualify for the CL group stages.}

1.) 06 Aug 2015 13:51:03
If all we do is sign one more CB I'd call this a good window overall

2.) 06 Aug 2015 14:08:23
Thx Danno no need to worry then back to the cricket.

3.) 06 Aug 2015 15:21:21
New CB signed, collo 1 year extension. Williamson to go, I hope so danno, if we replace with vvd

4.) 06 Aug 2015 17:19:40
I'm never sure on players from the SPL, they tend to be very hit and miss (although the same could be said for most leagues). Forster and Wanyama are probably to only two recently that have impressed me from the SPL. Forster was naff at us but seemed to turn into something different at Celtic and has been solid for saints. Naismith is another player who has done well but others seem to struggle abit more. I mean Boyata looked a liability whenever I saw him play but apparently looks a good player at Celtic. Denayer who partnered Van Dijk is seemingly staying at Man City after signing a 5 year deal, I would be happy to sign VVD but i'm not convinced he will be solid.
Obviously the ideal would be to sign a good experienced CB maybe even english but there isn't many around. Shawcross but he won't leave for a reasonable fee. I would quite like us to go for Ben Gibson from Boro, but let's face it no chance.

5.) 07 Aug 2015 08:57:31
Wanyama seems to have adapted to Prem football well

After a good win against Liverpool I just hope we can carry on the momentum. 1 question that still remains is why is coloccini still captain, he cannot motivate. Janmaat has been the player to come out to the press midweek to say they weren't good enough, and he was the one getting the crowd onside Sunday. You could even argue gini would be a better candidate, but coloccini seems incompetent at making his players play.

I think McClaren has 2 games to save his career. If we don't get a win against Norwich or Sunderland he will be chopped I believe. With a very good manager now available who would match the clubs philosophy. Brendan Rodgers, I for one think he would be a sublime signing as coach. The pressure is on McClaren should he get below 3 points from the next 2 games. Rodgers plays great football and promotes the use of youngsters, he had very little transfer control at pool. Match made in heaven

1.) 07 Oct 2015 10:47:23
Put if his depth and a shocking appointment. Rotten right through the club.

2.) 11 Oct 2015 18:22:58
I wouldn't at all be surprised if his next job involved having more control on transfers. But money does talk and we could get him.

31 Jul 2015 14:29:31
Sissoko set to join Chelsea before the season starts, he will replace the outgoing Jon obi mikel but also provide cover for the right wing. Chelsea will attempt to recoup the cuadrado money to spend 17 mill on sissoko. The deal could also include a loan for zouma with stones on his way to Chelsea.
Newcastle will attempt one more offer for thauvin but it seems a non mover.backup targets could include shaqiri or Boetius.
Coloccini wants to move but we are unwilling to let him go to another premier league team.
On a side note Liverpool would be willing to offer balotelli as part of an exchange for sissoko. Then people would stop comparing him to mitrovic, and we would have the worlds craziest strike force.

{Ed002's Note - Orange Sunshine kicking in?}

You make me laugh danno!

2.) 31 Jul 2015 19:14:40
Good info Danno if it is true

3.) 31 Jul 2015 23:09:36
Zouma on loan would be a great signing

30 Jun 2015 06:51:49
I still don't see why we couldn't put a cheeky bid in for Balotelli, he had been linked to sampdoria but they have denied wanting to sign him.
We all know he is a bit of a nutter but he does have undeniable talent. After a poor run at liverpool he would be a steal, most definitely cheaper then Austin. His wages may be a bit higher but you give him a starting place and number 9 I am convinced he would repay the faith.
Cisse apparently set to replace Ba for 10 mill, that money or even less could secure Balotelli . I think we are missing that mercurial talent since HBA leaving. HBA would be an example of us getting a cheaper deal on damaged goods but would Balotelli have the same impact

DannoToon

1.) 30 Jun 2015 10:19:54
I think Balotelli would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle I really do, he needs to deliver somewhere soon and he would love the support he got form the Newcastle fans and you desperately need a new hero to get behind.
Personally I think Newcastle and Balotelli are the perfect match and would bring out the very best in each other.
Give Liverpool there 10mil and they would snatch your hand off offer Balotelli star billing and he'd do the same, it should happen.

2.) 30 Jun 2015 10:37:02
the fans would despise him, he's lazier than ameobi, would demand massive wages and not be any use in a relegation battle. Mind I didn't think too much of sibierski and he turned out to be a good signing

3.) 30 Jun 2015 16:27:27
Totaly disagree. Need 11 on pitch!! and to play as a team. Not an individual who can't fit in a team and a lot of bother

4.) 01 Jul 2015 07:54:30
i agree with desree and baldiegeordie, balotelli would be a major risk, thinks he's bigger than any club and hardly puts any effort in.

5.) 01 Jul 2015 09:38:04
same goes for Tom Ince

05 May 2015 21:53:17
Not a scooby what the clueless carver will do saturday. My line up would have to be either these two depending on dummetts fitness.
Krul, 3 CBs Colo Dummett and Satka. RWB Anita, LWB Jonas, Sitting MF Colback and Abeid. Free role Cabella. Front 2 De Jong and Ayoze.

If Dummett is not fit then. GK Krul, LB Anita, RB Raylor, CB Colo and Satka. CM Jonas, colback and Abeid. LW Ayoze (him cutting in lethal), CF De Jong and the coward sissoko on the RW.

20 Million plus the rest. If I was West Brom I wouldn't sell him unless a silly offer came in, if Austin is valued at 15 after a season in the prem. Plus Austin is 5 years older as has had big injuries.
Last year Berahino at 21 scored 14 prem goals, whereas Charlie Austin at that age had just been signed up from a non league side to join Swindon. I would put my money on Berahino being twice the player austin is today in 5 years. Berahino if available for 20 million would be a bargain, in 2-3 years he could be starting up top for england and valued at double that 20 million.

The worst thing is that 'homegrown players' are doubling if not more in price. I mean i'm not the biggest fan of having all french and dutch players, but if they are good enough and show effort i'm all for it. People seem to think the reason we were naff is because the players didn't care enough, say we signed Austin. Why would he care about Newcastle anymore then say Perez?
The key is to have a coach to motivate players to do there best, a manager can completely change a team. When adkins got sacked at saints everyone questioned it but then pochettino came in and revitalised the team.
On a side note I would take Rhodes at 8 mill, that is a bargain compared to Ulloa at 8 mill and McCormack at 11mill.

Why on earth would we need a keeper? Krul (if he goes he SHOULD be replaced but Darlow will be seen as his replacement).
I do agree that the Austin rumour is all naff, why would anyone pay 15 million for austin when Berahino is valued at 20. Berahino is a goalscorer and has proved that 2 years in a row, 29 goals in 2 years from age 18-21. Seems much better value then someone who was playing non-league football at that age. I do believe Austin is a hard worker and brave but at the end of the day it will be about resale value. Buy Berahino for best part of 20 million and if he keeps scoring and gets his england call, his price will double in a couple of years.
Hopefully he would have learned from missing out on Bony a couple of years, we got priced out of that move and his value doubled. But then again its Mike Ashley he doesn't learn he just looks for cheap alternatives
